We popped in here without booking and due to a couple not having turned up for their table we were ok. We had the traditional Sunday lunch which was excellent. All produce was local which was good. Quality of the food was lovely and very tasty. Portions were sufficient so we couldn't manage desserts! Highly recommended.

We were recommended this place and told to book, so glad we did book - arrived just after 7 and the place was packed, always a good sign in my eyes. We were seated swirly and our drinks order was taken promptly. The menu read well and my juices began to flow. We opted to go straight for main courses,... More

We have eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The staff are very pleasant and efficient, the food is spot on and there is a good choice of drinks. Plenty of parking or it is served by an hourly bus service from Keswick or Penrith, the bus stops right outside. I suggest you book a table... More

Always used to walk along railway path, sadly with two bridges down unable to do this, so we walked the c2c cycle route from Keswick. Very warm welcome indeed from the waiters, shown to a table immediately, food and drinks ordered. They have a two course lunch special for £8.50, we ordered from main menu - chicken curry, rice, chips,... More

We stayed here with friends for a reunion. It was lovely! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. We dined here each night and had extra guests join us for one of those nights, The service was excellent. The food was varied and tasty with a good selection of beers and wine to accompany it.... Stopped for Sunday lunch and received a warm welcome. The food was lovely even offering a mixed meat option saving you the need to ask. The staff were lovely and the service equally as good. We will be returning.

One of my favourite traditional pubs in the U.K. Again a lovely meal, good portions, great friendly service, and top Jennings ale. The ambiance never lets you down either and you always feel you are at home here. See you next time.

We had a couple of meals here at the end of September. We found that the menu was very varied with something for everyone. This pub is just off the main road to Keswick and easy to find. I had the fillet steak both times as I thoroughly enjoyed the first meal, if anything the second time was even better.... More
