We came here for my wife’s birthday and though the service wasn’t the friendliest (they weren’t bad though), the food (and views) was magnificent. We started with drinks, Tico tonic and pellizco I believe they were called. Both great. Then we ordered the cheese plate...which came with roasted vegetable on the side - we’ve ordered loads of cheese plates over the years. This one was probably the most fun we could remember. I should mention when I made reservations, I mentioned we were vegetarian and the person who responded said it wasn’t a problem. And it wasn’t. At all. They have so much to offer vegetarians and vegans. Anyroad, we also got the curry de vegetales which was also brilliant. Overall a lovely experience. Ps go for sunset and it’ll be even more memorable.More

The best thing about this place is happy hour with a nice view. The food is ok the prices are hotel prices. There are better places to eat; but also a lot worse.

We had dinner here tonight based on reviews. It was ok but I was not that impressed. I expected the cheese platter to be flavorful. The grilled veggies were, but the cheese was average. The steak was good but not amazing. Overall the meal was...good not great. My husband had the pork, but was surprised it was ribs. His salad was not good.More

Best food around, excellent cocktails, top service. Own organize greenhouse and grow most of their produce onsite. Beef tenderloin is the star dish, be sure to have it!

It's been a few weeks, and I'm still thinking about this meal. I did a half-order of the cheese plate since I was dining solo, and it was enormous and absolutely delicious. Loved the mix of house-made cheeses, fresh vegetables, and sauces (the tomato marmalade!!!)....For my entree, the sea bass was super tender with a great mix of flavors, and a really perfect portion size. My pot de creme dessert was unbelievably creamy and rich, and the chocolate and coffee notes balanced each other out. It was the best way to round off the meal. Wish I could have stayed longer to try more! (Tip: Room service is also an option, including for coffee/tea)More

We were looking for a great place to eat while in Monteverde and after reading reviews decided to eat here. We did go with the recommendations and were not disappointed. Started with the squash soup, followed by the shrimp ceasar salad, then sea bass and...finished with flan. Absolutely the BEST meal we had while in Monteverde!More

We loved our experience here. We arrived while it was still light out, so the view was amazing. We got two appetizers and five different entrees and each one was cooked to perfection. I especially recommend the cheese plate which was amazing! The drinks and...drink specials were fantastic too, not to mention the beautiful space it's in.More

We were looking for a place that had good, craft beers. Eventually someone recommended Celajes as they have their own microbrewery. We were thrilled to have found this beautiful spot! It’s nestled into a valley allowing you to enjoy the sunset, across the forest canopy,...from their balcony. The wait staff was professional and demur until we shared our personal interests and then they were more than happy to reciprocate. The beer was enjoyable, our chosen appetizers were yummy, the price was reasonable, and the ambiance made for the perfect ending of a wonderful day. We highly recommend a visit to Celajes at Hotel Belmar.More
