This was our second visit to The Station, this time for dinner. They had a very interesting menu, but maybe a little ambitious. The food was OK but rather bland. A bit more seasoning and the food would be excellent. The wine was unbelievably expensive at $14.50 for a glass of very average wine. The service was very friendly, efficient... More

I know they were short staffed when we were here, which accounts for the tables not being cleared when we entered, but they did their best and we were served reasonably quickly. I drink soy and some baristas just cannot get it right when making cappuccino. and this was one, but it was no big deal. The food was simple... More

Went to go here for a well deserved afternoon tea at 3.pm after completing a nearby bike ride. As we went to walk in the door a staff member very abruptly shut the door and said we are closed despite the hours on the door saying they are open 9.am - 9. Pm. However all was not lost we drove... HI, Im terribly sorry you were treated in this way, we seldom need to close for a short period to allow for the evening restaurant to be set up however in this case 3.00 pm is way too early and every customer is valued in our business. I will be addressing this with the supervisor for that day. Thank you... More

Looking for somewhere to eat at National Park we came upon this restaurant. What a find. The food was delicious and well cooked. We enjoyed our meal so much we went back the next night.

An interesting venue with great service. We were well looked after and our vegan soon was catered for by an accommodating chef. All the food was of a high quality and I recommend this establishment unreservedly.

This was a nice spot to stop after leaving Whakapapa for breakfast. Whilst they dont serve bacon and eggs they do have a bacon and egg toastie which was really nice and the coffee was brilliant. Reasonably priced and staff friendly. Worth a stop off

The evening after we'd struggled across the Alpine crossing, we visited The Station (as recommended by our hotel) for some dinner. It was a little pricier than some of the other places nearby, so we opted just for a main course, but what a delicious main course it was. As a group of 4, 2 ordered the lamb, 1 the... More

Located in a remodeled train station, The Station Cafe offered us a delicious meal. Good wine list for a small cafe. Although the server was relatively new, she provided great service and worked very hard to please us. Salmon was excellent!

Table wasn't cleared for so long I think they thought that we had ordered the food that was left there.

Hi, Thanks for your feedback, please accept my sincere apologies. You are correct in that we were short staffed during the busiest week of the year. We have now recruited staff and are back to a full team of seven. Thank you for your patience. Warren More

Literally ate here every night during a recent trip to the National Park. Wonderful warm setting and the food is something else. Had the Sunday roast one evening which was great after coming in from the cold. Look forward much to eating here again next in town. Great service. Very nice people
