Visit this place regularly - food reliably good sometimes great! Specials menu is one to watch this is where the creativity is ... room for improvement with the wine list but recommend you take the time to stop and give it a shot!

Have had breakfast before at Salty Dog and it was good but this trip we were driving past a bit later in the day so called in for lunch. Had half a dozen oysters to start with then had flathead and chips, the oysters were good but the flathead was just beautiful, so succulent and juicy, it was the nicest... More

We were traveling north after work on a Friday night and with the freeway bypassing many towns we wanted somewhere nice to eat without back tracking or heading off the highway. When we stopped we were pleasantly surprised. Nice carved tables with pleasant surrounds. Full selection of different fish and beer and wine as well. There were families and couples... More

Good place for a variety of Fish & Chips. Recommend taking a nice break in the undercover garden. There is also a nice little shop to spend time looking through interesting things. Easy parking and well worth a visit,

We had just left Taree at about 6pm enroute home to Sydney and needed some dinner. We knew we couldn't make Newcastle so it was going to have to be somewhere on Pacific Highway. Ran some searches and this place came up. Very glad it did - a hidden gem. Sampled a selection of items off the menu: The Beef... More

On our way up to Coff's Harbour from Sydney, we were looking for an easily accessible lunch stop, and were not looking forward to spending time searching for somewhere off the highway. We were delighted to come across the Salty Dog, one of a collection of differently themed cafes, all accessed straight off the highway. The menu focuses on fresh... More

Brilliant spot! Well worth a stop! Offered the freshest of seafood and value for money. Needs more signage along the highway to warn people it's coming up! Beautiful outdoor seating area and delicious seafood!

This has always been a favourite of ours. You can get great food in a nice environment while driving north or south, thus avoiding the large unhealthy chains that dominate our highways! There are now 3 eateries combined with a lovely central eating area with nice tables and toilets close by WITH soap and paper which is a bonus. We... More

The Salty Dog is a brilliant place to stop on the way up or down the highway. The food is great and the setting is fun and relaxed.
