We were here in winter, it was beautiful then too, but I can assume it's even more impressive in spring/summer. You can see the ponds with the fish swimming there, so no doubt it's fresh food! We had some bread and delicious trout roe spread...for start, and then the fried trout with garlic sauce, and then the biggest papanasi I've ever seen for dessert, plus some pancakes with sweet cheese. We had some nice wine with all of this, and the staff was traditionally dressed. All of it was excellent, can highly recommend this place!More
Very fast service, friendly staff and the fish so fresh and tasty. And in case you doubt that the fish is fresh, I actually saw and talked to the guy catching it from their ponds.

The menu is not that varied, but that usually is an indicator of great taste and fresh ingredients. If you get the trout, you can be sure that it was caught on that very morning. We stayed there for three nights and everything was delicious....But, as I said, not that varied. But for a few days, it was more than OK.More
Splendid surroundings, plenty of tables, goog food, huge portions. Avoid the "fresh lemonade" as it wasn't fresh at all.

It’s a very beautiful location in the nature. The food is really good , I ate here the best Tripe soupe ever (ciorba de burta) . The menu is simple and as they serve mostly trout and as lot of people are coming I bet...they are making in advance them . Any table is ordering at leat one plate of trout so this does not mean that is not freshly cooked . The reason I don not give a 5* is because of the sizes of the plates...indeed they do serve per 100g and you can get too much food that you cannot eat ...but they offer you take out service.More
Bad choice!!! We went there because of the reviews. Unfortunately, the service was awful, the food was not tasty, it came in like 5 minutes since we ordered, therefore the food was not freshly made. The price for fish/meat is established per 100g, and we...were not prior advised with regard to the size of the dish. We ordered fried trout and grilled trout and we received two big size fishes which could not be eaten by a normal person, however we end up paying for almost a kilo of fish and we ate only half of it. The side dishes came uncooked. There are many other options in the area; therefore it is advisable to go there instead.More
We had a meal at Păstrăvăria Alex and we enjoyed everything very much. The trout soup and the grilled trout with potatoes were very tasty. It is not that appealing when you see it from your car passing by but when you go inside their...domain it is so relaxing and a beautiful view. Every person that passes on the road should stop there for a meal. It is indeed very crowded but they have many seats and it worths every minute to wait for the food.More
It is a nice restaurant, very crowded when we arrived(around 15 .00). Very good trouts! Very good "papanasi"! I recommend this place for eating trouts and romanian food!
We followed a recommendation to eat best trouts in the area. We arrived at noon and we found a table in not less than 15 min. The place is nice but very sunny especially in the hot days. The personnel is nice but agitated because...of the visitors. The food is good and the portions are very big. You may want also to make a picture at the happy fish waterfall.More
