We were in the area for a long weekend and the local pub was fully booked so we decided to drive around the area to see what else we could find. We happened upon The Blue Bell and have to say were very pleased we had. The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious (especially the chocolate orange... More

My husband & I took a small party of six friends to the Blue Bell, Arkendale as our birthday treat. Eveeyone thought that the venue was smart, clean & comfortable. We had various meals, they were all good quality, cooked very well, presented well & very tasty. We finished with desserts & coffees which we also enjoyed. It is difficult... More

Started off well enough but revisiting left us underwhelmed. in food, atmosphere and value terms. Food for our party was far from as described, with the gastronomic delight of a ready meal, served by willing but unfamiliar staff, a sign outside trying to recruit new members suggested staff problems, whether this extends to the kitchen one can only surmise, but... Eight of us visited the Blue Bell earlier in the year for Sunday lunch and it was superb but oh dear yesterday's return visit was a huge let down. The bar area is very relaxing, the staff are great but the pre-cooked beef and lamb were dry, tough and tasteless. However the freshly cooked food was still excellent. Doubt if... More

A great deal of thought has been put into creating a bar area and dining rooms that are very appealing and have a nice ambience. I was in a party of four and whereas my steak was tasty and cooked just as I requested, my wife's seafood risotto was bland and tasteless. The wine menu was extensive and prices were... More

Really lovely, spacious rooms and great food. We had a wonderful weekend stay with friends at the Blue Bell. The rooms were very clean and the overall service excellent. Well done to all involved. We will definitely be back!

Upon entering you find yourself in a lovely lounge area with ample comfy seating with clean fresh toilets just off it. A little further in is the well stocked bar followed by the restaurant area split between two separate connecting rooms. Decor and furnishings are very nice throughout. Staff were very polite, friendly and efficient. The menu was varied and... More

I live near to this pub / restaurant and have visited it many times over the last 25 years. It was refurbished about 2 years ago to a very high standard and is now not just a country pub but a fine eatery, at least as good, if not better, than anywhere in the locality. The food is better than... More

Had an amazing stay at the Blue Bell. Had a lovely bite to eat early evening and was well looked after, had the best nights sleep as the bed is massive and extremely comfy, and had the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel/pub the next morning! Room was very clean and I felt really at home. Will definitely... More

Quality contemporary furnishings in the bedroom. Pristine condition and spotlessly clean. Continues throughout the pub. Very friendly staff and excellent food at dinner and breakfast. Well lit large car park. Small point but personally I don't like bright downlight over the dinner table. Very unflattering light (ask a photographer). Would have been perfect if a little more romantic with the... More

Description
Fantastic food is important at The Blue Bell: our local suppliers provide us with great Yorkshire produce which our chefs use to put together a great range of dishes from the pub classics we all know and love (think Fish & Chips or Cheese Burger) to some slightly more elaborate dishes that are perfect for those special occasions.

To keep things simple our main menu runs throughout the week at both lunchtimes and during evening service. This is then supplemented by a lighter menu of Sandwiches & Light Bites on Wednesday to Saturday, whilst on Sunday we have our fantastic traditional roasts available for only £10.95.
