We were a group of 14 and thought we should try out this place as it's recommended to us by the holiday home we rented out. We got in touch early to book for a table at noon on a Sunday and even pre-ordered, but...More

Beautiful old pub with lots of original features serving good lunch menu and local beers. Recommended for the building alone.

Lovely little pub (if you really want to eat here make sure your book), with real ale/cider, food portions that are big and great quality (lovely beef, pork and crackling, excellent roasties & Yorkshire pudding)!

Stopped here for a hearty meal to meet our guide for a walking Weekend. The staff and landlady couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Just returned from this pub after enjoying the light display in Castleton. We did arrive a little late in the evening but were quick to order. However, sadly our food was very disappointing. My chicken, from the specials board, had been incinerated and the chips...More

Hi We're really sorry you had a disappointing experience with us. Staff reassure me you were offered a free drink to make up for this. We had no other complaints that night about food, however we do take every comment on board. Please do visit...More
