On every occasion when we've visited the Old Hall, we've found the staff friendly and efficient. Comparing the price of food in the area we found it's not overpriced. We find the food is always good. Our family, when they're visiting the area generally have a meal there.

We visited The Old Hall on a wet bank holiday Sunday evening after finding it hard to find other pubs in the area who were serving food on a Sunday night and who also welcomed our dog. We were tired and hungry and we were well looked after at The Old Hall. We were told as we grabbed a menu... More

Don't rush here if you want a quick breakfast, after we ordered a couple of bacon /sausage rolls and coffee we heard the staff tell the next few customers that they were really busy and there would be a long wait , no one told us . It was around 40 mins for us !!!! Lots of staff milling around... More

Our U3A walking group called in for lunch today after a good walk in the Hope Valley. We had a variety of sandwiches, soup and main courses and everything was really good. Homemade soup, good quality meat in the sandwiches and proper chips. There is also a good range of hand pulled beers.

On the way to climbing Mam Tor we visited for breakfast in the tea rooms adjacent to the hotel and have to say we were disappointed. There were 4 of us and we all ordered either scrambled egg or poached egg on toast. After 35 / 40 minutes the breakfast arrived 2 of the 4 orders were wrong and the... More

We have been here for a beer. The bar area is small but funny like every pub in england. They have a few beers from cellar. And the rest out of bottles.

On our way through Hope to Castleton with the caravan we came across a sign advertising the beer festival for Easter Weekend - that was good timing! The pub was cosy and dog friendly. We did not have a meal there but the restaurant was always busy which tends to be a good sign!
