My wife and I along with our driver had dinner at the Spice Garden. It’s a little hard to find, it’s not on the main road but an easy walk from Cardomom County which is the hotel we were staying at.
Food is freshly made and quite tasty. Nothing special but staff is friendly, attentive and food is good.
Don't get too excited as this is not fine dining, this is food from the heart, honest, full on integrity and absolutely delicious. Every time we say what was the best meal the pea masala and the banana leaf wrapped fish get mentioned every time....The chef/owner is lovely and she is cooking her home recipes and giving it her interpretation to create magical flavours as well and just honest well thought out dishes. She was quite happy when we said we wanted it spicy, nope we are not regular tourists we wanted it real. Thanks so much, we are trying to figure out how to replicate the pea masala. Oh and they have beer and wine (thank the Universe) Thank You, Wanitha, Leanne, Victor & JimMore
This is a huge restaurant with good reviews so we were surprised to find it almost empty mid week at 7:30pm.... Food was all cooked fresh to order and very tasty. They serve beer which is an added bonus.... I suspect if the restaurant had...lots of diners it could have a good atmosphere, however other restaurants have a more enjoyable experience. The waiter was pleasant enough. Overall a good meal but not a memorable experience.More
A little gem up a tiny path. The food was lovely and local. When we arrived at 7.30 it was empty (Tuesday night) which freaked us a bit but the food and service was perfect and the price wasn’t bad ... also served beer 😋
Amazing! We have been travelling for 2 Weeks in south India & have just had our best meal yet. Perfect layerings of flavours. We are chefs from Sydney and we can say with confidence this food is done w integrity; from honest home recipes. Don’t...miss the pea masala, fish in banana leaf, traditional Kerala style fish mappas and coconut rice (hand grated coconut). We are so happy. Chef/owner Rajani knows her stuff! Service is warm & efficient.More
Straight up great food cooked from scratch (so don't expect speedy). Garlic chappatis! Lovely setting outside but loads of mosquitos so wear repellant. Worth it though!
Tucked away in a lane this joint offers excellent freshly prepared food . The fried fish was without skin and very well marinated. The place is airy and clean. Credit cards not accepted.
Very expensive restaurant, went there for dinner, there are better places available, food and service was good.
