We were lucky that we just happened to drive up to Port Fitzroy on a day they were open. We had burgers and coffee and both were awesome. Stunning scenery to enjoy whilst sitting at one of the picnic tables complete with umbrellas. Thoroughly recommended.

We were looking for 'The Hub' but it seems it has been renovated and is now called The Burger Bar. Great burgers to be enjoyed right at the wharf. I had extra bacon, cheese and egg and it was yummy. Just watch out for the...opening times on the photoMore

Spending a few days on the Great Barrier Island and staying at Medlands Beach, which is situated on the South Eastern end, we decided to drive up to Port Fitzroy. Had a cup of coffee in Claris at the start of the trip and that...was just as well. We knew about The Hub, but what we didn't know was that it was only open on a Wednesday - Barge Day - and we travelled on a Tuesday. So be prepared. I cannot recommend anything except experiencing the quirky decoration of The Hub - took time to take a few photographs, and the mural on the jetty was worth looking at. There was a shop in Port Fitzroy, but no food. Also no food until we got back to Claris. So be warned. Also the Boat Club which said quite clearly on the end of their road BOAT CLUB OPEN NOW, only to find it was closed too. The sign being on the door.More

Superb burgers. Pull in at the wharf, order lunch, enjoy the atmosphere while you wait, then eat best wharf-side burgers in the Southern Hemisphere.

This unique café specialises in burgers and takeaways, and excellent coffee. It's easily accessed on the wharf as it's the only food outlet there. We both loved our huge burgers and reckoned that the coffee must have been made by a top class barista. If...you're on the Barrier you must visit The Hub!More
