This excellent eatery provides a full taste of Fruili with excellent food and drink. If you get the opportunity to visit do not miss out. I will look forward to returning next time I am over.

When a local restaurant owner recommends that you come here, you know it is going to be good. We were in a group of 4 with me being the only one who speaks both Italian and furlan language, but that was not a problem for the other 3 since our lovely waitress Monica spoke English to them. Our meals of pasta,a soup and the grilled meats were excellent. The grilled meat was the highlight of the night along with some grilled zucchini and eggplant. Their house wine was okay but the pinot nero castello was very good at a reasonable price. Monica also gave us a complimentary tiramisu that was also a hit with us. I look forward to coming back here next time I am in the Friuli region visiting family. It was a pleasure and thank you to Matteo from Ai Bintars for the recomendation

Great place on the countryside

I can recommend this restaurant. The only drawback is its location which is hard to reach without a car. The dining room is hidden inside a dreary looking pub, but once in there it is a nice, old-fashioned place. Friendly, quick service. Freshly baked, warm bread. Fresh ingredients, good taste, reasonable prices.

Very good food and service, gluten free menu, wine so-so

We had dinner at Piciul the evening before easter. The place is nice and well kept, somehow "old style Friulian". I had a soup with local herbs and potatoes which was excellent, and a steak which was good as well (even though a bit more than 8 small pieces of roasted potatoes would have been appreciated). I also sampled the lamb which was delicious if not totally awesome! The "house red wine" wasn't that good in my opinion, but it's probably a matter of personal taste. I'll go with a bottle next time. They have a gluten free menu, which basically offers a good choice on what to eat. The desserts are an exception, as the only gluten free option is pineapple. Service is attentive and professional, but also nice and fun. Before leaving, try the herbs grappa they offer, it can make you digest a dinosaur. I can't say anything about the price, as somebody else paid for me. :-)

Dear Monica in front of house and her brother Federico are following in the footsteps of their parents. Bring your best possible appetite for the most spectacular florentine steaks- this side of florence ! Vegetarian- no problem, and great fish on request. To say my wife and I love this place is an understatement in life.

Cozy atmosphere and excellent cuisine

We stayed at Dal piciul in mid-February to celebrate a family birthday. Excellent local cuisine, family atmosphere, the lady who recommended us transmits passion for her work as does the hand-written menu. I would define the cuisine as typical Friulian. Being in San Daniele I couldn't help but start with an appetizer of very sweet raw ham that melted in the mouth while someone had the frico, another Friulian specialty, which I found very good. Then a risotto for two people truly delicious creamed wine, frico and a second course of meat which unfortunately I did not fully enjoy as I was already quite full. Even the choice of wine, a red from South Tyrol, was perfect. I will definitely return as soon as I'm in the area again
