Murugan cafe on mutt road is a very good restaurant for great food in kumbakonam.. The coffee here is amazing and strong. The food is definitely good. I have had idly and plain dosa here and both tasted delicious. All the more reason to revisit here on our next kumbakonam visit.

While we were at Hotel Sitthi Residency between April 10 & 12th April, we visited Murugan cafe thrice. The food was OK but the service was pathetic. Typical of Tanjore district, the servers were reluctant to work and the cleaners too.

Clean and Quality Hotel on Mutt Road Kumbakonam. The Idlis are so tasty that we still savor them even after 3 weeks.( You will not get them if you visit after 8.00 am for breakfast) They also serve good Poori Masala, Different Dosais etc. Good Vegetarian Budget Eat Out for Family

It is a clean and wholesome south Indian place. I found the idlies hot and soft and their coconut chutney sufficiently thick as to pass for 'getti chutney' rather than the watery versions that are commonly available.

This is in madam road. Has small lodging facilities with some rooms which are moderate. The hotel provide mainly south indian dishes. Dosa, idli, pongal, vadai are good. charges are moderate. a hotel for a common man. very near to temples and station.
