Had a day in albir with friends they wanted to go for a meal someone suggested banana tree I have never been before & was very impressed. The food was amazing 2 starters main course desert & drink for 14 euros, think cheaper before 5 ,but definitely value for money, we finished with a baileys shot! Decor is fabulous plus beautiful clean toilets will definitely recommend & return.

We went to eat at the Thai restaurant "Banana Tree" in Albir with our Golden Oldies. A four course menu Del dia. A very attractive restaurant with nice employees! Very cozy and very tasty! We all had Wanton soup. Rice and Bami on the table and Robert Diane Lia Emmy and I Shrimp in delicious oil, Martin Spicy chicken. Then Robert had Mango chicken, Diane Spare ribs, Lia duck mushrooms, Emmy and Martin Thai style shrimps and I had very tasty salmon with
chips. Coffee and a glass of Limoncello with the bill. What a delicious lunch!

My wife and I tried here and we where greeted by a very friendly gentleman who sat us immediately. The waiter was very witty and was very helpful.
When our food came out it didn't disappoint it was amazing to say the least, one of the dishes I asked for had some prawns in it so I asked if it could be taken out and it was no problem. Excellent service, lovely staff and exceptional food.

I am sad to say, this restaurant has gone downhill and we and our family won't be visiting again until we are reassured significant changes have been made to the management and running of the service. This is upsetting to say as we have been coming here for the last 15 years.
Our order was placed incorrectly, lack of attention from staff, everything took a long time to come out, including drinks. No feeling of care for customers, with no manager on site to speak to about our disappointment and concerns. We spoke with a female staff member who started shouting at us in front of all other customers, causing a scene. Our son's food never came, in the end, we left without eating and finishing our drinks. Terrible and upsetting experience for us all, especially our children. The pictures online are not a true reflection of the experience. Sorry state of what could and should be a fantastic restaurant, creating memories for all who visit.

Yes we were a large group but we were expected by the restaurant 23/1/22. They were also informed of our food requirements in advance however we were told that what we had ordered was not available!
We’ll not be rushing back here. Our tables were booked for 2pm and we got our main courses at 5!
Our first courses arrived at 3.30!
There was absolutely no respect for our party who incidentally had all pre ordered their food, we were totally ignored while they sat new customers down and fed them.
We were by the doors which were often left open and the restaurant was cold, one waitress was extremely rude when I asked if she could close it. Unbelievable!
When we eventually got our main courses (during a period of approximately 20 minutes) they brought 1 lot of rice for a table with 16 on. It was farcical
Thank goodness for the fantastic company we were with.

Apart from the look of the restaurant, which was 5star thats where it ended. It was more Chinese than thai, the starters were full of gluten, and I asked for the thai green chicken curry, that came with only 5 tiny pieces of chicken, it looked as if it came out of a can. My wife asked for a veggie dish as opposed to noodles or rice, and they charged her €8 for extra. Never again. Enjoy...

We was there as a group of some friends. I ordered «pad thai» and my friend orderes some noodles with beef and chicken. We asked them if there was any type of fish/shellfish in her food and they said no. We asked because she as allergic. When she got the food, it was full of scampi. They took it in, and got it back after 2 minuts. They just took out the scampi, something that still is danger for people who are allergic.
My pad thai wasent made of glasnoodles. It was thick pasta, and it was no bean sprout in the pad thai. Something that are very normal, and it was on the picture of pad thai in their menu. When we for the second time took contact with the waiters, they laughed and shaked their head. Then i told them how i wanted it. Then we haved to wait 30 more minuts, and the pad thai was exactly the same like the first time. Sour taste tho. Not going back.

Went Saturday night with friends. Place was empty and now know why. The food was deplorable and tasted horrible. I eat Thai food a lot but this was nothing like Thai you could not tell what you were eating. Avoid this place at all costs. Terrible.

I really like this place, the food is very good, they cook very well and they have a lot of variety of dishes. The service is very friendly and the place is very nice, a very good and pleasant atmosphere, and the decoration is very nice, not like it usually is in this type of restaurants. One of the Asians that I like the most in the area. The price is also good. I recommend it.

Recently reopened ... we visited last night .....the Banana Tree is now renamed Thai Kitchen albeit with same front of house staff and menus. A nice addition built during lockdown is a covered dining area at the front of the building, with pretty lights ,and huge dining chairs, which I found a bit low.
All health measures were in place, including QR scan menus ,and I felt absolutely safe .
Our dim sum starters were hot and well filled, and the whole seabass was perfectly steamed and beautifully presented.we also had 10 stir fried vegetables and white rice .friends bau duck buns were were a tad dry, other than that a very nice dinner.
I hope they continue to keep up this standard , as the banana tree that was ,had been very up and down lately ,particularly the service.
Our bill for 100€ for four including several drinks ,we felt was quite fair.Menu del día and banquets are available too.

This is definitely the very worst Thai we've ever been! Essential ingredients of Laab Kai, Yam Woonsen, Pad Krapow were absent, same goes for spices. Only salt was added in generous quantities as well as Sweet Chili sauce. The only reason why you would go there is being very hungry with a tiny budget.
Absolutely not recommended!

Had a great meal. The food was really lovely. However, watch out on the drinks.
I was charged €9.98 for a very small bottle of cava. In other local restaurants and bars, it's between €3.99 and €4.50.
There is no drinks menu on the table, so make sure you ask for one.
I'm really disappointed it kind of spoiled the experience.
