Stopped at the Rhotia Valley coffee shop on our way to Serengeti. Wonderful views over the valley from the patio. Easy to miss, so keep eyes open as you approach Karatu. This was a really wonderful little cafe (which we nearly missed, as it is right at the edge of the village, and down a track). It’s great that they do so much to support the local young people. I’ve forgotten all the details, but they...have set up an orphanage, and through the cafe teach it’s young people hospitality skills - and the people serving us, had great skills. The food and drink we were served looked good enough for a London West End restaurant!! It was gorgeous. Well worth the stop for a rest, and recuperation from whatever drive you’re doing.More

I recommend this place, wonderful view, great cappuccino! Watch for the signs on the road through Karatu, because the building itself cannot be seen from the road. It is like a hidden gem you have to discover to be surprised with this amazing view. Highly...recommended!More

Best coffee I’ve come across so far in Africa. The views are stunning, perfect for bird watching. The food is so delicious, that our breakfast has just turned into brunch. I selected a long black coffee, sandwich and lemon crepe and the Fizzy Fuzz -...a delightful juice made from lemon, ginger, soda and mint which was very refreshing. A cheeky little detour on the way to Ngorongoro Conservation Area you will find this hidden gem. Rhotia Valley Coffee Corner is decorated in a rustic decor, featuring comfortable furniture, great service, beautiful coffee and the views are incredible.

A fantastic place to stop for coffee, a snack or a meal! The panorama of the valley is breathtaking. The staff are attentive and friendly. I can't think of a nicer place to have a nice break.
