Had a relaxing evening here with friends while travelling to Mookambika. Good food, good ambience, good people, good neighbourhood. All together brings about a great change to the otherwise normal evening.

Every time I'm in Kannur I have to eat at the Wheat House at least once. The environment is like stepping back in time with an aged charm. The staff is efficient, friendly, and responsive. The fish fry and chilly chicken are great choices and...above all the Chikoo shakes are the best in town. They run out quickly so it's best to order two right off - after drinking one you will inevitably want another. The private rooms are an intimate way to eat and drink with your friends and family.More

I have been going to Kannur for quiet sometime and I went to have lunch in this restaurant along with my wife on 18-11-2017 after seeing good reviews on trip advisor. The restaurant is housed in a traditional old fashioned house of kerala with several...rooms inside. The interior is neatly maintained and the restaurant was full of customers during lunchtime. There is also a lounge with some sofas for those who can wait when it is full. The hospitality was quiet welcome. I had Chicken Biriyani( malabar type) and and my wife had a regular meal with fish fry. Both the items were good and the rates are quiet mid range and I could see the lots of employees working around, having regular lunch there. I have attached the photos including the rates of food items. The most important aspect is the the location of the restaurant is in the heart of kannur, called CALTEX circle and there was ample parking space for cars on both sides of the restaurant, with in their compoundMore

Wheat house is situated almost at the busiest part of Kannur . Have a good parking place around the restaurant. In the 1st site we get a feel of an old ancestral home and bring up memories of olden times. There are separate family rooms...available for people who would like privacy and calm environment. The service is good and food is awesome. The biryani served still have its traditional taste, really superb. Food served is good and at reasonable price. At lunch hours at times it might be crowded but has a big waiting area so its manageable. This restaurant also has take away facility. Not necessary that you have to go all the way there, order and then wait for your take away because Pre-Order can be done for take away. Good choice for people in hurry and also for normal food lovers. Suitable with family, friends, business or solo too.............More

Good option for a quick lunch in Kannur town with parking facility. Crowded during peak hours. Nice seafood options available with meals.

Hotel staff were very welcoming and directed us to a private dining room adjacent to the restaurant to eat our meal in peace and tranquillity. The quality of the fish in their biryani is outstanding and we ended up ordering some more. The only draw-back...is their toilets need refurbishing and at least one western toilet must be installed for the foreigners amongst their clientele. Then they will surely be the best pit stop in the town on the journey to Mangalore or Goa.More
