Their biriyani is excellent. we tried both chicken and mutton biriyani and they were excellent, especially with the thick salad they serve alongside.

This place is worth a visit if you like the famous Malabar Biriyani. This biriyani rice is lesser spicier than the other biryanis of India relies more on the flavours than spice to make its statement and is one of the very rare biriyani which is made from Jeera Samba rice which has its own smell and flavour rather than the Basmati rice

One of the best biriyani in Kannur. Good service, but no parking not available. You will get good gravy that is sufficient for eating porotta😊... Also the Lime tea, I didn't taste such a lime tea from anywhere.

Went for dinner with my family. They didn’t guide us to family room upstairs which was some what better than the dirty dinning area around the entrance.The staff were so unprofessional,they didn’t understand “wash room and rest room”. There are no indications for family room or rest room
Food was pathetic. Biriyani was pieces of over grown chicken covered by cheap rice. The gravy was raw. No aroma , rice and meat might have cooked separately and serving as different versions
Cleaning boy was handling drinking water
Wonder how it is rated in google and trip advisor
Try never , Try street food in Payyambalam beach, they far better

bad service, i had a chicken biriyani wich they called thalassery biriyani,please learn how to make thalassery biriyani,i think they didn't eat thalassery biriyani,wich they are serving biriyani is not thalassery biriyani,and the chicken was very hard ,i didn't enjoy my lunch,,,i don't reccomend this place

Centrally located, small & very busy restaurant. Food is good and fairly priced. There is no AC area available & ventilation is not that good making it a congested place with a lot of visitors. Not an ideal place for small children.

MVK is one of the best and oldest restaurants in kannur. It's famous of biriyanni. This is non AC basic level restaurant with no car park. It's clean and customer service is good. Been to this place for many years. But this time I can't full marks to the chicken biriyani which I order. I want biriyanni with lots of masala and it should be semi dry. What I got this time is dry, less masala biriyani. I ordered this around 2200 which is almost closing time. Because of this, I am not giving negative marks. Will try this dish next time and hopefully it will get back to his authentic kannur biriyani taste.

You haven’t had Biryani if you have not tried the Biryani from MVK. Be it prawn biryani , mutton biryani or a chicken biryani this is the one stop place to satiate your biryani cravings. One taste is all it takes and then you shall be a fan forever.

This place has all the basic comforts. It is reasonably clean. One cannot find a place to park near this place as it is situated in a narrow and crowded street but this place is worth a try for Cuisine Crazed foodies

It is too crowded.Biriyani is their forte its awesome.Chinese is not upto the mark.If you are on the lookout for a good biriyani, MVK is a must try. Parking is a bit congested during peak hours. Not a fine dining place, but ideal for biriyani takeaways.
