Veggie hubby and I ate here for the first time on Sat having booked a week earlier. This restaurant is attached to a pub next door which had live music later in the evening so I'm guessing the vibe would really pick up! Our table was booked for 6pm, so the place was rather quiet. The room has stripped floors... More

After a long walk away from our campsite we popped into The Forresters for a few drinks and some games of pool. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere!

A sublime lunch for two. Service superb, food better.Situated in the heart of Teesdale's most beautiful village with parking nearby this well run, unique, restaurant with a French touch is a must for regulars or passing trade. I've paid twice and more for worse than the quality on offer here. Go on, treat yourself.

Thank you so much for the most wonderful food we have just eaten. As a chef I can honestly say I can't praise every thing we have just eaten enough, portions are very generous, service was really good , plenty to choose from and a varied wine list. We will definitely be back next time we are over in Barnard... More

Visited this restaurant and had a delicious lunch of baguettes with tasty filling, salad and great chips. Service was excellent. Good selection of meals on the menu and reasonably priced. Will visit again.

We stayed at this hotel on a Saturday evening and really enjoyed the whole experience. We had room 4 above the bar which was very nice and had a good bathroom with a bath. Our little dog was made very welcome and we had a lovely meal in the bar area. I cannot comment on Breakfast as we stayed room... More

This is truly a hidden treasure. The menu makes choosing difficult. I had delicious tomato soup followed by Beef Burginon. The portions were very generous. I couldn't manage a dessert but did steal tastes of my friends desserts. The amaretto creme brûlée was delightful and beautifully presented with a spun sugar dome on top. Other choices of food included rack... More

This hotel had a French restaurant attached to it and the French theme spilled into the bar area which we visited. There were signs and images on the walls that were designed to add character but just looked a bit tacky. Service was good but the place just felt strange.
