It is a nice place to have dinner. We found the ambience quite good. The place is very clean and airy with nice stock of drinks. The quality of food we found was very good especially sea food. Prawns were cooked very well with good...size of helping. Service was very good and staff was ready serve you all the time. Overall found the value for money.More
Betty's place has always impressed for the high standard and quality of the food and moderate pricing.
The seafood is always fresh and prepared to perfection. The Goan specialities and chinese dishes are impressive and simply delicious!
This is without doubt the best local restaurant...in the area and well worth a taxi ride from the more populous Cavelosssim or gentle walk from the Leela or Holiday Inn resort.
The boat trips are legendry and the best value excursion in Goa. Booking is however essential.More
I have been going here for years and always go back on my visits. The staff are wonderful as is the food and service. Nothing is to difficult for them and they will do the curries just as you like them. They also have a...great range of others dishes and fresh caught fish. The pomfret is to die for. See you FebruaryMore
Beautiful meal at Betty’s. Garlic prawns to start. For mains husband had steak in blue cheese and I had the chicken. Both dishes were plentiful and perfectly cooked and very reasonably priced. Cocktails delicious. It was Thursday evening and the Karaoke was on. We don’t...usually go along to Karaoke however we had a great night. Mixture of locals and other nationalities all added to a great atmosphere. At the end of the evening the staff provide a complimentary car to return you to your hotel which is a nice touch.
If you are in the area a visit is recommended.More
River booze cruise was appealing.
R1,100. Start off at 9.30pm,(We actually left around 10.15) trip lasts until around 2.30pm. (We arrived back just after 3pm) I’m writing this on the day!!
We meandered down the river to the narrow estuary to go to the sea...to see dolphins. Where’s the beers I thought? soon the Kingfisher beers were flowing. Drunk one till 1/4 full, boom, another appeared. That was the plan...
The sea had been a little rough so we didn’t venture to see dolphins, maybe cos of the full moon, tides etc? We turned around and headed up stream, very slow, very tranquil! Lots of fishing boats along the way, local fisher folk seemed content to see us. I’m not the sort to wave frantically! I did on occasion and they waved back. On the way we spied fruit bats roosting and asked the crew for binoculars, given to all of us quickly. After a slow cruise we stopped after and hour and a half or so for lunch.
Luckily we met with Dave and Joe, two amicable English gents, both with a great sense of humour.
The crew showed us the Dorado to be cooked fresh for us and everyone had their photos taken with this great fish. Maybe 10kg of prime ocean living beast?
When we stopped, drinks now flowing freely, we were served starters of fried prawns and bread roll. Very well cook on board, on the bbq. Quick cigarette for me and the main course of Dorado came. Succulent, fresh and white. Served with rice and salad.
The sun was beaming and the drinks were flowing.
I had another cigarette but soon the fruit salad arrived. A great finish to the meal!
Jo, my partner and I had a Honey Bee Brandy (careful) and another beer. It rounded off a great meal!
One of the crew then came up to the top deck with a tambourine and said he was going to play a couple of tunes. The songs were great if not a little kitsch but well done that man.
We set off back up stream, drinking and chatting with other guests.
Altogether a great day out!
Oh perfection as always. Betty’s is the top place in the area, food so fresh, staff amazing and superb value for money.
Everything about this quiet lovely restaurant is spot on, don’t let the hotels tell you not to eat in the local places. We...have been coming here for 20 years, Thanks Benson, Roy and Rosario for everything .More
Been coming to this restaurant for getting on for 30 year's food still as good and relatively priced used to be packed but the 2 close by hotels not busy with tourists
Can recommend the food drinks and service
Having had fabulous food at Betty's on previous visits some years ago, we were really disappointed this time. It may be because we were right at the end of the season - but the place was always deserted when we walked by, and there was...only one other couple eating when we went. The service wasn't even lacklustre - it was almost non-existent. OH's tuna was very watery, and my paneer curry was in an unusual white sauce - it tasted OK, but was not at all what I was expecting. Despite Betty's being the closest to our hotel, we didn't bother coming back after such a disappointment. Reading other reviews, we can only blame the time of year we were there?More
We have been going to Betty’s for 15 years. The food is consistently good & the service excellent. Try the Pomfret Fillet - amazing! The Betty’s Day River Trip is the best we’ve been on. Again, service is excellent & how they manage to provide...the quality of food onboard the ship beats me! Great day out & great evening meal!More
