The restaurant is hidden in a small side street, it is a ver nice traditional Spanish style restaurant. Good paellas. The meat is very nice. Price and quality is good. The service is a bit slow but ok. No children's menu...

We returned here for lunch after a two year absence and found this place just as wonderful as we remembered it. Excellent service, wonderful food (Valencian Paella is as good as I've eaten anywhere - beautifully cooked and well presented. Service was excellent - this family business continues to impress and it's lovely to find such a genuine friendly ambiance... More

We booked this very Spanish restaurant for New Year's Eve back in October. We had never eaten in the restaurant before but friends had recommended it as a good space to have a proper Spanish new year. The restaurant actually was about 50:50 Spanish : English customers but the owners and servers speak little English They were very welcoming and... More

El Refugio is amidst a cluster of sidestreet restaurants on Moraira seafront and is easily missed. Five of us enjoyed a hearty 2 course dinner in this busy but well-run restaurant. The staff are very friendly and efficient, the menu caters for seafood and meat eaters and there is a very reasonable wine list. A good selection of music plays... More

Just ate the best roast leg of lamb ever! And that's saying something as it's my favourite dish The 'ensalada espescial' was also excellent and the 'house' red was most quaffable too.

First time we went to this older restaurant. We had a lunchmenu with friends. I took the fresh lenguado and it was superb. Service good, older lady was very nice. The ambiance and quality was exellent. We will be back

We had the menu especial - three huge courses of delicious Spanish food, wine included with great service. Such a lovely atmosphere. We'll be back!

Disapointed, incorrect food served, expensive for the quality, poor / rude service. Argumentative waitress. There are many other delicious places to eat, we have a villa here and eat in le dauphin to local cafes and have never come across service or lack of quality like it.

Having eaten at some restaurants numerous times I understand that they all can be inconsistant. On our visit we had Paella which was tasty, the prawns were a little soft but no complaints. Its not the cheapest but we had a good meal, the house wine was quite nice and service good considering they were getting busy. Sitting inside a... More

Went in here tonight swayed by the outward appearance of the place which looked classy. Eaten in virtually every other place in town I think but this was the worst so far! First off I asked for a glass of red house wine what was poured was about 1/8 of a glass and wasn't even that great for house wine... More
