It is a great shame (skoda) that a restaurant which does such good food has to think about an angle to rip you off. There were 19 of us from London. I had agreed a set menu which was good value, As is the restaurant's...custom, they put a sadlo on the table as a taster. On previous visits, the emphasis of this sadlo had been nice big pork scratching bits but now you had to dig through the lard dripping to find a few at the bottom of the jar. You can't complain it is a freebie.
The guys are good drinkers so despite the 3 drivers managed to drink 42 beers. Having been in the drinks since 1971 and have been one of first retailers of Pilsner Urquell in '75 in the UK, I was horrified that a (nice) beer not Urquell was passed off as a premium beer and charged at 48kcs - an unreal price in the middle of Czech even cheeky for Prague. It was staggering to get the bill but I suppose it pays for the owner's latest model Porsche outside I calculate the overcharge to be 500kcs - nice money if you can get it The owner's reply to me was you pay £5 for a beer in London -ok so that gives him the right to rip us off. He also owns the Bonaparte nearbyMore
I happened upon this restaurant 3 years ago on my travels and was so impressed I vowed to come back again if I traveled along that path once more. And here I am. Menus are in Czech, Polish, German and English. Possibly other languages too,...I did not ask. The food is homely and tasty. The servings are generous. And with the Aussie exchange rate... cheap as!More
Easy on-off from a busy highway, close to the road spacious parking. Nicely decorated facility, fast service, friendly staff. Original local dishes listed in multilingual menus, inexpensive. Great stop for a meal while driving across Czech Republic. Deer steak in cherry sauce was not bad....Garlic egg-drop style soup a little too salty.More
The service is very fast, food is amazing and cheap, staff is polite. What else can you ask for? This place was recommended to us by a family member and I am happy we stopped there on our way to Brno. Right a way you...get a complimentary appetizer (bread with a jug of lard) and when you finish your food you get a complimentary koláčky (cookies). Would like to come back next time we are back in Czech 😊More
