Our first visit and we were not disappointed decor is modern and comfortable. It was very busy so it wasn't necessary to book. But I suspect it it will be different in the summer. The menu isn't extensive but you are bound to find something to suit. The food was very good and good value for money. Compliments to the... More

We were delighted to find The Playa still serving (and pleased to see us) just before the kitchen closed. We were made extremely welcome, offered table service in the bar, including our drinks order, and were served excellent food at very reasonable prices. We were seated in a smart and comfortable environment, with a sea view, plus the tables were... More

Visited the player on their steak night. It was amazingly good ribeye and very refreshing to receive such good value. Will definitely return. Also just to mention, it was spotlessly clean and very friendly staff. Great evening. Thank you

What a shame, when I reviewed The Playa before I was really pleased with it and have been back many times since the last review. However today was a total letdown, the menu was uninspiring, there was no chicken meals whatsoever! We waited almost an hour for our meals and when it arrived my meal was cold! The staff were... Since my last visit, the management has changed. There also appears to be a new chef. The service was delightful, a very chatty, cheerful young lady served us with an unfailing smile. The food was good, we ate from the pensioner menu. The views from the restaurant are lovely, with the Playa being across the road from the beach.

This venue thinks it is something else, overpriced boring pub grub in a nice location. If that is what you want then it is ok, if you want quality then go somewhere else.

Thanks for your recent review from your visit back in September 2016... We are now under new ownership, so maybe we will see you again in the future and you can decide if your opinion has changed. All the best if not though. Kind regards, Laura More

Always enjoy visiting and dining at The Playa. Today was no exception. A great lunch, first class service and a seaview from our table. Compliments not only to the chef, but to all the management & staff who ensure guests receive an excellent dining experience. 😊

Have eaten here several times over the past 4/5 years. Lately the food has improved from what was already a good standard. Sometimes have to wait for service if busy but service always given with a smile and quick enough when not busy. Have always been accepted even when busy and not pre-booked. The views over the North Sea are... More

Friendly and good service. Not many places where you can dine and watch the tide come in or out. Groups are made welcome and food is good value.
