Lovely pub. Stopped there on a chance half way through a long walk. Though fully booked for lunch they found us a table. We only ordered sandwich and ploughman but all from local products and generous in size. The staff was very helpful and friendly and they welcome dogs. I would suggest to book for sit down meals as it... More

Highly recommend this pub. Food is excellent and staff friendly and attentive. We regularly go and always have a good meal.

We haven't been to the Boot in several years but were looking forward to revisiting it. Disappointing, is all we can say. Menu looks scrumptious. Mains slightly pricey but not if superb quality. Children's menu looked a bit pricey - ditto. The menu was varied and wide ranging. Sausage and Mash. Sausages were somewhat bland and the skins quite tough.... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent visit and I am sorry that you felt disappointed by your experience. We do concentrate on producing fresh, local, seasonal dishes and think that our pricing if fair for the quality of the food produced. It is a little unclear from your comments whether you had a... Travelling down to the West Country to see some friends post Christmas we decided to call in to the Boot again as i had so enjoyed my last visit. The A303 was, as usual, incredibly busy so it was lovely to turn away from the chaos into the tiny village Berwick St James. Foolishly I had not booked expecting them... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us, I am glad that you enjoyed your lunch and can only apologise that a few of your fellow diners encroached on the overall enjoyment of your time here with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Boot on another, hopefully more relaxed and tranquil occasion. More

Very welcoming, nicely furnished - a really pleasant place to spent a few hours. It seems to be a good mix of local pub & randoms dropping in to eat. Good, solid food - big portions! Extremely friendly service. My only tiny gripe would be that the fire was obviously smoking a bit & my eyes got a bit sore.... More

Many thanks for taking the time to review us. We had a family meal there, mid-week between Christmas and New Year. Quite often found that not so good, it's my birthday and we have several times elsewhere been disappointed with cold premises with no proper heat, skeleton staff and makeshift cooking arrangement. Not so in this case! Warm, welcoming, good food and nice atmosphere. The men enjoyed the beer,... More

What a warm welcome by Cathy, stopped by for fresh coffee. My wife and I cast our eyes across a fantastic feast of their food menu, we shall certainly be visiting again next time for dinner!

If you want to experience a truly great English pub, you have to visit The Boot Inn in Berwick St. James. It was built in the late 1700's as a coach house and now serves traditional English pub food with a fresh twist as well as pulled casked ales. The fireplace adds to the warmth of the experience. The food... More

Made a quick stop after Stonehenge. Menu was diverse and local. Had a steak and a pork chop for lunch and both were plentiful and tasty! Place was full on a Saturday just after the lunch peak and now we know why.
