Visited the day before Mother's Day for the first time, and expected service to be slow due to it being a busy occasion. Quite the contrary. The service was excellent – staff were attentive, chatty, polite, and very helpful. I took my grandmother, who spilt a...More

The most delicious afternoon tea I have had. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, with more adventurous fillings. The scones were the best I have eaten. Lots of delicious cakes and plenty of tea. Gorgeous setting. I am looking forward to going back!

Phoned this morning to book a table for lunch. Was told they don’t take bookings and no need as they weren’t very busy today. Arrived at 1 o’clock to find it closed !! Had a lovely lunch at The Continental Coffee insteadMore

We were disappointed to see a negative review this morning. We have a duty of care for our staff and in the adverse weather conditions, our priority was getting them home safely and so we made the decision to close, like many other shops and...More

Fabulous afternoon tea, one of the best we’ve had. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were all delicious and plentiful. The staff were friendly and efficient. We’ll definitely be back whenever we visit Maldon.

Founded in 2014, Mrs Salisbury's optimises the Great British tea room. Our tea room is proudly situated in the blue plaque dwelling of the late Edward Bright, The Fat Man of Maldon. Occupying Rose Cottage at the rear of Church House, our quaint tea room oozes charm and character, with seating over two floors and an idyllic courtyard. Whether dining inside on a cosy winters day or outside in Brights Path, we offer a service like no other in Maldon.
