Just arrived home for a splendid , well-priced meal at The Queen's Head. The Staff were very pleasant and attentive, while the view from The Port Hole Restaurant was peaceful and serene overlooking the superb Thames Barges moored on The Hythe. The Moroccan Chicken was delicious and the seafood dishes were imaginatively presented and equally tasty. For this standard of... More

We visit this pub every time we holiday on this coast. We love to sit and watch the life of the river over lunch. This time it was October half term and we were surprised how busy it was. Nevertheless we managed to get a window table inside and our sandwiches were delivered quickly. Substantial and tasty with a good... More

Special's were tempting. The classic "fish & chips" preparation of haddock was without fault (with real peas, not the mushy 'thing'). They should either increase their plates or make the portions somewhat smaller. Nice chips too. Whitebait was OK, no more than that. One desert was great - layered cheesecake in a glass. I wouldn't recommend 'though the warm apple... More

This is a popular and busy pub in the season The day we visited it was at high water spring tide. The outside area was almost full and we found a waterside table, the legs of which were just on the tide line! Once we had ordered at the bar the tide slowly receded so we were able to eat... More

Met my sister for Sunday lunch and went to the Queens Head. I had my doggie and she was allowed in the bar on a lead. The bar was busy with fellow dinners and my sister and I had an enjoyable and tasty meal. The staff were polite and helpful. My sister is planning to go again mid-week with friends.... More

We had a family lunch in this restaurant last week. The restaurant is in a lovely position overlooking the wonderful old Thames barges that are moored along the Hythe. The food was a bit hit and miss. The stone bass was watery and the mango rice had a squirt of mango juice across the top. My grandson's fish and chips... More

Stopped in here last week for lunch and to get out of the blustery wind. I was with my daughter and grandson. It was clean and welcoming, dog and children friendly which was great and appreciated. The pub was moderately busy. I had plaice and chips which was simple but nicely cooked. My grandson had a kids portion of scampi... More

We decided to give this place a second try as we were not impressed with it the first time but they said they were very busy and it was packed at the time Today it was sane and we ordered a fish stew and scampi and chips. I'e always liked the movie Grease but not in chips whic came drenched... More
