The place has a good view, mostly for sunset. The tea was good and snacks were average. It can be a place to visit for a change in kasar devi area. Inconvenient location of the toilet.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent place away from the mainstream. Mesmerising views. The Himalayan ranges can be seen from the room - from early morning till noon. Food served of all varieties - continental to Tibetan (thukpa) to Chinese to Indian. There was a...glitch due to electricity failure for one night but it was not in their hand. They are fitting solar. The hotel stay is on upper layer and the stairs are steep. Stay prices very resonable.More

Some of the best things in the world are rare... untouched... unexplored... and therefore, less recognized... Alhito Cafe & Resort is one of those! This tucked-away cafe on Kasar Devi road in Binsar is deceptive in many ways. Firstly, the approach road is hidden and...not much advertised. If one knows the name, one really needs to be on the lookout while driving down this narrow one-lane road towards the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary to spot the humble little board with a direction arrow on it. Once turning into the interior, one may think again to be sure of experimenting with the food variety due to the non-metalled and bumpy lane. Reaching their parking spot and then realizing that there is a steep climb of huge stairs before one can get to the cafe can pose a challenge for many people. The next level that we had to face was that it was about 8:45 PM and there were no other guests around and we felt that probably we would be told off (although most cafes do close or begin closing on this stretch by 9ish). With an air of doubt, we proceeded and were met by supposedly the owner of Alhito. We were politely shown to the outdoor seating since there was some cleaning up going on in the indoor area. There was some reluctance since it was cold and seemed cloudy too. A very soft comment about that immediately was responded by offering a bonfire setup! Menus were offered, suggestions were given along with a clear guideline that this would be the last order of the day... We were still in a state of apprehension if we had made the right choice or not. Food ordered - Veg Momos, Chicken Shawarma Rolls, Chicken Soup & Tomato Soup - some amount of wait time - food served ------ the first bite of anything and everything... it just took us to wonderland!!!! We couldn't have tasted better soups, momos, and rolls like the ones made here. It was 'so melt in your mouth' that it lingered on to our taste buds till many subsequent hours! Incredible and unbelievable is what we could utter... it was impossible to understand how such a hidden small town locality could have a 5-star level chef conjuring such heavenly food! Definitely, the location, the weather, the excellent aura added with the bonfire were additional ingredients to the recipe but the food alone was a killer :) This wholesome experience pushed us back to Alhito Cafe the next day for a midday snack. This time it was Waffles and Hummus with Pita Bread - my major reason was to get a 'verified' stamp, and they did it again! Out of the world flavours - prepration, freshness, taste, presentation; everything was spot on! I completely agree to the first review given here about this cafe. It, for sure deserves much more accolades than most popular brands or restaurants that we blindly trust in the cities. Alhito Cafe kind of embodies the essence of cooking and serving with the passion and care that the chefs in every home (our moms or grandmoms) prepare their dishes. Probably, that is what goes into their every recipe and that's why they are able to prepare such an unforgettable concoction with every meal they serve... simply amazing! May God Bless this real feel fine dine experience and make them stay the way they are - untouched, unexplored - simplicity at its best!More

This is an interesting cafe with a good view of the valley. Sitting in the cafe, one feels a bit vulnerable considering the way it is perched on top. The steps to the cafe are also steep. The food is good but their service is...very slow. Take ample amount of time and enjoy the views from this place while you wait for the food.More

The ambience is very good. The menu was limited i.e. they could serve only a few items from the menu but the food preparation was very good. Good for an evening meal.

This is a place to be if you are in Binsar/Almora. I don't know why Alhito doesn'tbmarlet itself, but their food, their interiors and service should go out in the world. Starters, beverages, dessert, or main course... and yes chai is the best in Binsar....6 adults and 2 kids, we ate like pigs and wrapped up in 4.5k. With the quantity they serve, it is a steal deal. They have low seating couches, perfect for hogging... like.we spent 4h there. Go for Alhito.More

In terms of beauty, charm and creativity, this little cafe is unparalleled in its warmth and hospitality in thr vicinity and rated as best in the district, on Google listing. It's sad to see TripAdvisor give such misleading listing to potential visitors and guests who...would miss out on a lovely dining experience. A sweeping view of the Kasar valley, leading away to the enigmatic blue peaks of the Himalayan ranges, is nourishment for the soul, as you sip on a hot, frothy cup of coffee and a menu spread that embodies the hospitality of Uttarakhand. Local and fresh produce are turned into sumptuous meals in different cuisines. There is something for every guest here, be it Indian, Italian or Chinese cuisine. The wood panelled cafe with bright lights, book shelves filled with different titles is inviting and charming. The steps up to the cafe is flanked with plants and flowers and the interiors also have beautifully manicured plants that betray the green fingers of the owner. We were lucky enough to discover and stay at the cafe resort. We never had to step out for a meal. We mostly had Indian meals, dim sums, soups and garlic bread, all of which were cooked with love, and served with care. Our rooms on the top floor were comfy, cosy and clean. With warm running water, a window seat with a view that breathes into the valley, this place is a gem of a find. I'll be coming here time and again, whenever I feel the pull. It is hoped that TripAdvisor would rectify their wrong listing and rating given to this little gem. Honestly, it reflects poorly on the credibility on TripAdvisor itself. Till then I'd be double checking every listing TripAdvisor gives with Google, just in case I don't miss out on anything.More
