The restaurant is at the seafront - and its possible to sit outside and enjoy the view. We were the only ones that night - and the waiter cared for us - and we gave him free hands to choose the drinks. Drinks are awful cheap in Cuba 2-3 CUC for a Ron Collins, Cuba Libre etc. Food was fine with good fishoptions and a lot of meat and chicken. Rice and beans, cooked vegetables - but well prepared and fine taste. Good choice in Baracoa.

So, back here again after three years and absolutely the right decision. Probably the best place in Baracoa for fish. About 5 minutes from the bustle of the centre of town. Once again well cooked fish dishes, great cocktails and friendly service and reasonable prices. A small and intimate restaurant more suited for a romantic evening than for coach parties. Highly recommended.

fresh and testy food (in special salsa of Baracoa), attentive englishspeaking service (the waiter was very nice, told about the city´s history, recomended a good wine), plesant view to the sea, different choice of music, simple and сherry climate! p.s. not expensive and not far from the main squarу.

Not many tourists venture outside the city's main drag which is a pity: I was the only foreigner there for dinner. Had a good canchanchara drink and delicious and tender octopus dish with all the trimmings for a very reasonable price. Service was nice and attentive. The terrace affords a paoramic view over the ocean.

My husband and I had dinner here in December 2016. FOOD QUALITY: We asked which of the seafood dishes was the freshest that day and was told octopus, so both of us ordered that. It was mouth-wateringly tender and very flavourful - on par with the best octopus we've had in Spain and Portugal. SERVICE: As is often the case in Cuba, the food was being prepared from scratch in a 1-person kitchen and took a while to arrive, which we don't mind when we're on holiday. We found the owner friendly and helpful (but we do speak Spanish, which always eases communication). ATMOSPHERE: This is a simple open-air restaurant on the upper level of a building right on the Malecón. As we were there when it was dark, there wasn't much of a view, but we loved the smell of sea spray drifting in and listening to the crashing waves - perfect for eating seafood!

The restaurant has a perfect view, facing the Baracoa Malecon. The ambience is peaceful, hasn't many customers. The service is a little slow if you arrive at midday. The food is tasty and well cooked.

All over Cuba you see green table clothes but here they have their own style and it looks great. The food, fish and lobster, is ofcourse good and the the friendly service makes this diner a good one. Walking distance from the centre and you can walk after diner at the boulevard by the sea.

Everywhere else we've dined in Cuba has offered great service and value, but this was a disappointing experience. Although there were only two other diners when we arrived, the service was slow and increasingly surly. The menu is simple - a wide choice of meat and seafood (which determines the price) with rice, banana chips and salad, followed by dessert. Our octopus was tasty but we had only a small portion of rice and a garnish of salad. It looked like the locals and tour groups with guides got the usual large portions of rice and salad on separate plates while ordinary punters got their meal on one plate. To make things worse he told us dessert was extra but when we argued he just walked off and returned with two creme caramels which he dumped on our table without comment. Needless to say, we left no tip. I gave a star each for the quality of the octopus (I rate the chef) and the venue (first floor overlooking the sea) but it loses three stars for the miserable, penny-pinching attitude of the owner.

We stopped in La Fortaleza for Mojitos' and then lunch. The Mojitos' were very good and made right in front of us. The food, fish, came with rice and vegetables and the portions were a good size. The fish was very good. This is a nice restaurant with more than reasonable prices.

This was a decent meal, though not the best I had in Cuba. The fish was fresh and the staff agreeable. The location is great, right on the water. There was a local band if that's your thing. We were actually trying to have an informal workshop and politely asked the group to leave, but they were quite decent. Not a bad choice.

Excellent food and way excellent service. We ate there several times while in Cuba and every dish was amazing. We even had some local entertainment one evening. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. Located right on the coast line with great views. I will definatly go back next time I'm in Baracoa.

Don't expect Ritzy fine dining. What you get is excellent, honest, local food; the best of which in Baracoa is fish, shrimp and lobster all freshly caught. The restaurant is on the Malecon about an eight minute walk from the main square. It is well worth the effort to have a quiet meal away from the central tourist traps. The fish soup was first class as were the camarones (shrimp). Good, friendly and efficient service and the prices more than reasonable.
