We were going to a concert and needed to eat before. Ended up at the harbor tavern where we were received by a waiter who really knew how to receive his customers. Not overly polite or anything but he was himself which made us feel relaxed pretty quickly. We also saw how he treated other guests and how he adapted to what the party consisted of. If there was a family with children, he adapted to it so that the children also felt noticed. He had a feeling for this and nothing was theatrics. The food was really good. The beef fillet in particular tasted fantastic. The restaurant is located by the harbor and also has an outdoor terrace. Unfortunately we were late in reserving a table so we ended up inside the restaurant but it was perfectly fine.

Very good meat, we were 3 people who ate there and we all ate meat, beef fillet and barbecue beef with fries and good sauce. Good beer too. Nice reception but the waiter was bad at Swedish but it went well anyway. Located right by the Göta Canal.

Ugh and yuck! For Boeuf Bourguingon. Horrible boiled potatoes with thick skin on exactly as in the school canteen in the 60s -70s. The dish was served with a tablespoon to eat with. Hardly any sauce in the pot, but the dish was dominated by this vile potato. The grandson was served pancakes with cream in a bowl and lots of Nutella smeared on the pancakes. Why not even put Nutellan in a bowl as smaller children usually do not eat when everything is in a mess? Ordered 2 sirloin steaks. Very poor quality, chewy and tasteless, potato wedges that were mashed, would have been better suited to make mash on. The malt flask (which only came on one plate!...? ) was bad and smelled bad. Higher quality at Ikea. Terribly bad! The only thing that was good was the cava and the beer. I ordered an Oumphf "shut up burger." Surely I kept my mouth shut, out of sheer shock that something so mean could be served! A burger with vegan cheese, brioche bread and bbq sauce/bearnaise sauce. No sauce on the brioche bread, flabby boring salad, Bean came (mostly in hindsight, should not have been there apparently) with a film, ie the chef has poured and let it stand. A nice menu led us to Hamnkrogen in Motala. Happy and pleasant waiters gave us a nice table with a view towards the entrance to the Göta canal. Generous portions but unfortunately the positives stopped there, the restaurant was cold and noisy, the wine came corked, the potatoes were cold and the schnitzel was overcooked, a shame in such a nice location unfortunately.

A very friendly place with many local guests. Recently refurbished veranda. In the winter limited opening hours with fire place and heaters. In the summer long opening hours, lovely harbour view. The food is ok, sometimes very good, sometimes less tasty. Nice salad bar. The 5 stars given for usually good service and friendly management. Do not expect a gourmet restaurant, more of a pub feeling. Dogs are not only welcome but treated as guests of honour! I could give an extra star because of this.
