Ate here with a family of 9 including 3 under 7s on a Saturday lunchtime. Service was friendly and we all had a main course. Pasta and prawns were good but the sea bass had by 4 of the group was disappointing as it was...tasteless. We were not given a break down of the bill and just shown a bit of cardboard showing 9 x 15 = €135 !! When I tried to question this flat rate bill, suddenly no one could speak English!! This was disappointing and I felt we were charged too much for what the menu showed and the language barrier deterred further explanation.More

Delicious seafood

Gelomarket is off the beaten track in Castelnuovo situated in a car park near Conrad supermarket. We called ahead on both or visits to make a reservation as it is always busy. The first time we went for lunch and sat inside which is very...basic. We shared a prawn starter which was delicious and the food presentation was exceptional. Both our pastas were full of wonderful flavours. The second visit was for dinner and we were seated outside and again had the prawns and then the Osteria mixed seafood pasta and spaghetti with clams and mussels high quality dishes. This is one of the best places to eat in Castelnuovo.More

Fantastic food and service

Been for lunch here three times now when visiting Castelnuovo. Love the food and service is brilliant - nothing is too much trouble and everyone is very attentive! Highly recommend!

Great Stop in Garfagnana

Dropped in here for lunch based on the good reviews. We were not disappointed. This place is like a fish shop/café/restaurant with seating inside and out. It is opposite a large car park- so parking was easy. The menu included a whole variety of pasta...and gnocchetti with sauce of your choice ;marinara, vongole, crab- and so on: then a catch of the day: fritto calamari, shrimp and vegetables, stew: sea bass. the 4 of us had different dishes, they were all good as was the complimentary octopus starter. The staff are friendly and helpful. It was a lunchtime drive so unfortunately had to pass on the excellent wine choice. 42 Euro for 4.More

Do not pass this by.

This is a frozen fish shop with a few tables and food cooked to order. Simply the best if you like fish. The wine is terrific and the food is always absolutely delicious. It is always best to book as the restaurant is popular. Parking...is easy too. Don't miss out on this food just because the place looks a bit clinical.More

Lovely, friendly, professional, good food.

This Restaurant is in a car park! It looks like a cafe when you enter. It's also a frozen fish shop. BUT, BUT. THE FOOD is excellent the service is good and you finish your meal with a smile on your face ! Donatella and...Massimo are the opposite of each other and make a perfect match. Oh so different to most Garfagnana food an elegant Tuscan offering when you least expect it. So happy we found such a lovely Restaurant. Well done you two.More

Great Seafood and service

Been here several times now and always return. The food is excellent even though it may be some frozen. The chef is a master of her trade. The food is always presented well, and the taste is wonderful. Coming form Australia where seafood is a...norm, I can only say that so far from the coast this takes some beating. Great selection and service!

After a poor meal nearby we stopped here for a gelatto for desert. I had a triple and loved every bite of it. The girl behind the counter spoke English and was genuinly grateful we stopped by. What a wonderful treat on a warm evening...in Castelnuovo.More
