We ate here with our friend last week and had a fantastic meal. All of our primma piatti were amazing, especially the fungi tagliatelle and we shared a large, local Garfagnana TBone/Fiorentina presented as Tagliata. They cooked the 900g cut to two levels of “doneness”...for us and got it just right. Lovely contorni too and we had to take some home, just too much for the three of us. Halfway during our meal, the father and founder of the osteria/bottega came to our table to introduce himself and gave us a sliced tomato from his orto/vegetable garden. With lovely oil and salt it tasted wonderful. His daughter Barbara was lovely, really looked after us and paired a great full bodied red with the meal. A great place to eat and we will return!More
Went there today to eat with my family.
Upon arrival we tried to order, but no pizza while the name of the restaurant and first page of the menu has capital PIZZA written all over.
Then we tried to order the fish: trout. This was...not available any more at 8pm while menu didn’t show any other fish options. And the entrance shows big sign with trout as special....
Never mind then we tried to order meat for my daughter of 12. Only possibly was a mega steak which was way too large for her; but no possibly to get a smaller one. The waitress was very push to get orders so we decided to leave.....
No good recommendation from me for this place; there are many better options around.More
We originally went to la bottarga del fattore to sample some wines, however we where instantly drawn into the family run restaurant, we ate the best local produce and drank a bottle of chianti from there well stocked wine cellar. The restaurant was well run...by the family, who are quite rightly very proud of their restaurant and could not have been more welcoming, we’ll definitely be returning!More
After the appetizers we had pasta with cinghiale and cinghiale and polenta. Barbara is super nice and she even sat with us to talk about Tuscany and it's hidden treasures. After all, we had a cake with ricotta cheese and chocolate that was delicious!!! Amazing...experience to be repeated for sure..More
You can't go wrong for an evening in this family restaurant, as long as you don't expect any refined "city dishes".
The value for money is high, the owner and staff are wonderful, and the food is plain and good. Only the mixed grill was...average.
Afterwards we had the best espresso of our 2 week holiday in Italy.More
Came with a family of six plus a baby and the restaurant was very accommodating. The meal from starter through to main course and dessert was very nice and traditional. The hostess was really friendly and welcoming and spoke very good English, taking the time...to explain the Italian menu and helping to answer any questions.More
We had the most amazing evening dining at this very authentic Italian family run restaurant. We are a young(ish) family of 4. The service from the owners was fantastic. The food was truly great. It felt like we had been invited to a wonderful Italian...family dinner. So welcoming and a very stark contrast to the tourist areas (Florence/Pisa). Our daughters would love to go again! Make time early in your visit so that you can go again!More
We had some great meals here - various cold meats for starters, wild board pasta and mixed grill. The restaurant also welcomes you with quite a plate of starters on the house. Apart from the nice food, the whole experience was amazing - the restaurant...has an excellent vibe, the staff is amazing, super friendly and really want you to enjoy your time there. You will not even notice that you sit near to a road, so don’t let that prevent you from going to this place!!More
Simple, limited menu and just a delight. Of the many places we are over a couple of weeks, this was among the most enjoyable. The cold meats appetisers are super, fresh and tasty pasta with pine nuts and lemon, a huge mixed grill and an...even larger plate of local cheeses with polenta cakes. The service is the friendliest I have ever come across. A genuine and memorable experience.More
