Visited this restaurant quite a while after it had opened - although I had heard pretty good things about it. Frodsham is a small market town and not hugely known for it's fine dining. Booked for dinner and although the menu is quite small, the...More

I really could not fault this place!! The staff are second to none, extremely knowledgable and very attentive. The food itself is devine!! I have visited Next Door three times and every meal has been exquisite. The menu is small but changes frequently! They also...More

We were recommended to try this charming restaurant by a friend, and so glad we did. The food was exceptional and service was attentive but not intrusive. My husband has hare and I had cauliflower soup, both beautifully tasty, then grouse wellington and beef. Having...More

Once again we were treated to a fabulous meal at Next Door. This time with friends who had not previously experienced this special dining experience. This part of Cheshire needs to take heed as Next Door sets the bar -so high! The attention to detail,...More

I almost don't want to submit this review, it's one of those restaurants that just gets it all right and you hesitate to share such a lovely place. The food was fantastic, the steak the best I've had in a long time, the pork belly...More

Wow. I genuinely do not know what is required to achieve a Michelin star but if the food here doesn’t deserve a star I’d like to know why. This is a fine dining experience from entrance to exit. The proprietors are involved every step of...More

Think they do provide on line menus samples
Having read the reviews I was delighted to treat a friend to a Birthday lunch today. The decor & overall style is 1st class blending old world charm of beams with modern white marble effect tables. The welcome by a bright & cheerful lady (Zara) was great and we were further encouraged that we had made the right choice to visit. Sadly not to be = The music was far too loud although when asked twice it was turned down to a reasonable level. The service was good & the waitress attending from the kitchen to table very bright & friendly. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing ie., size of portions. The smoked salmon mousse styled starter was tasty but barely 2 x desert spoonfuls of food & was padded out with chopped celery & accompanied by 5 wafer thin slices of some form of fried bread each about the size of a 50p piece. I followed with lamb pesto/rocket/leeks/walnuts dish which although very tasty, after stripping away a very large piece of crisped fat consisted of 5 small bite size pieces of lamb. The only rocket found was 1 leaf, the walnuts - barely 1 and the & leeks none found. A side order was served with this which we were later advised was "complimentary" which consisted about 4 or 5 small new potatoes and about 2 x desert spoonfuls of cabbage. My guest had seasonal salad with chicken. The seasonal salad was mainly grated carrot with a few bits of greenery & tiny bit of beetroot, the chicken appeared to be a mixture of chicken wings & normal meat which had been cooked in some sort of 5 spices (no mention of this when ordering) and again about 5 very small bite size pieces in total. I gave up when it came to desert! but encouraged my friend to have one out of embarressment for bringing her out for lunch and getting basically a snack. she had a fruit passom fruit parfait with white chocolate mousse dish which once again was a very small slice of a set parfait and approximately 1 x desert spoon full of mousse. We had 2 x Americano's which were served with milk & sugar in cut glass bowl & jug (a very nice touch) no biscuits. The whole bill came to £36.80 with no wine at all just tap water to drink. Were we hungry at the end of it - yes (and neither of us have large appetities). So very very disappointing as I always like to support local businesses.
