We thought we would wander down for lunch from the hotel. We arrived and things looked good. The staff were smiling and the prices looked good - then I put a hand on the 'Tartan' table cloth, and it stuck... the cloth was so filthy it was grim. We decided to stop for a cup of tea as the weather... More

We would like to apologise for your experience in the cafe. Our customers are very important to us and our staff do take pride in keeping the cafe clean and tidy. Unfortunately during busy times staff are spending time preparing food for our customers which in turn means there is a delay on clearing tables however to reassure you and... More

We were in town for an overnight visit and called in here for lunch. We arrived just in time to order before the youngsters from a visiting football team arrived. I had soup and a coronation chicken sandwich, both of which were very enjoyable and filling. The hot chocolate with cream finished it off nicely. This was a nice little... More

Had lunch here today, lovely friendly service from the two young girls who were both working hard. 3 meals and drinks for around £20 and the food was simple but lovely and hot, quickly served and cooked fresh to order. I had a chicken burger and my daughter and husband both had chicken bites and chips... No complaints. Will be... More

This was a really lovely experience. I spotted the cafe on my walk out of Castlebay, and called in there on my return. They are very friendly and it's a nice atmosphere because the place is inside a school, so has bright colours, and is clean and cheerful. I had homemade oatcakes and pate. Recommended. It's quiet - no background... More

If I were to review this cafe 2 or 3 years ago I would have told you that there is a varied menu of cafe classics and Barra fish supper and scampi meals on offer, large portions with fresh salads and fast service. Overall a 4 star experience, with the main let down being that they ran out of certain... More

We had the haddock and chips. It was freshly prepared. Only comment is the haddock portion was very small. Staff were kind and friendly. Used by locals which is a good sign. A number of children were doing there homework whilst enjoying chicken nuggets

Stopped for a bite to eat at lunch on Monday , small, simple menu - breakfast rolls, sandwiches, home baking. All prepared fresh and came "as it says on the tin". Young staff very friendly.

Good coffee, adults can have child portions which I really found helpful. Food fine. Children may be able to use the nursery playroom for a donation.
