Very cosy, welcoming restaurant, with a talented young chef. I've been many times over the years - and it is still consistently great food, with careful use of local seasonal produce. The menu can offer you the classics for this region. For example, the chef's own foie gras is to die for! And we all love his confit de canard. But... More

A lovely 3 course dinner from the 28euro set menu. Great service and lovely food. Both pork dishes were very nice.

We ate here many years ago out of season & it seemed a good place to suggest to friends holidaying in the Dordogne. We were not disappointed. The courtyard was pleasantly shady, the staff were very welcoming, friendly & efficient. The food was imaginative and delicious and we left wondering what excuse we could employ to travel so far from... More

I was visiting Monpazier with my wife and other family members, when we chose this restaurant for lunch. It was a quiet Friday in October, but we were greeted warmly and settled into cosy surroundings. The lunch menu was excellent value and I enjoyed all my dishes. The food was cooked and served with a real passion for the ingredients... More

One of my favourite restaurants in Monpazier. Locally sourced seasonal produce beautifully cooked and well presented food. The chef and his waiter are lovely with great personality, service is always excellent. In the warmer weather the terrace is a good place to dine.

After many disappointing restaurant experiences in it was pleasure to discover a restaurant with a combination of charming setting and imaginative quality food. Frog leg risotto, guinea fowl breast, prune ice-cream - original regional food served with originality. Table companions enjoyed the wild boar stew. The waiter was also classic; classic French grumpy.

Every year we go with the entire family at least once to Privilege du Perigord at Monpazier, after visiting the lovely village we have our family lunch, either inside or at the cosy front terras. The dishes are very fine and local, great wine list. I recommend to go for a full menu.

There aren't that many restaurants in Monpazier, small as it is, and several are not open every day or out of season so thank goodness for the Privilege. Local food - heavy on the foie gras and walnuts, even the house wines are local - pleasant staff, reasonable prices and a cool courtyard to sit in on a warm evening.... More

A must restaurant to visit for lunch. The Menu du Midi at €19.50 for 3 courses is outstanding in value, quality and presentation. You can sit out front in a lovely shaded courtyard or inside in the dining room, either is equally nice. We visited on market day and though the restaurant was busy service was at a nice pace... After a wonderful wander through the Monpazier market we dined at Privilege du Perigord for lunch with a party of eight. The setting is delightful and the service sympathetic and efficient. The menu and cooking is a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary methods. The presentations were imaginative and impeccable and the dishes perfectly prepared and delicious.
