MICHELIN Guide's Point of View

A place owes so much to its owners... and Bruno takes after its chef, a larger - than - life character. He pays tribute to truffles with a year - round...

This place is simply incredible. In particular if you take the 78 euro lunch menu with the "basic" truffles... It is stunning value. The dishes are 3-michelin star worthy. The setting is straight out of a movie and time flies when you are sitting under...the mulberry trees. Highly recommended for lunch any day of the week (preferably weekdays). One of my top restaurants in France.More

Gosh, I’ve been reading other reviews and I cannot believe we were in the same place. Terrible and will never go there again. Sub standard service, my expensive bottle of rose which was half full was removed from our table when I went for a...cigarette NEVER AGAINMore

The service is deteriorating. We have visited this wonderful place every year for the last 10 years or so. Really unique experience! This time everything was perfect, as always, until the son of the owner left the guests area. First, we had a ~30 min...delay for the main course delivery. Other tables who had come and ordered way after us, got the main course before us, incredible! Second, we had to ask 3 (!) times for the bill!!! All in all we spent more than 2.5 hours for the dinner (compared with 1.5 hours normally) and had to adjust our further plans. I really hope the owner’s family will read this and make changes!!!More

We had an absolutely unbelievable meal here. The setting is beautiful, the service was friendly and they got the timing between each dish right so you were never left waiting whilst also not feeling rushed. The wine was mostly high quality and locally sourced. As...for the food, if you like truffles this is the place to be! It was all gloriously rich, and packed with truffle flavour. I didn't leave a single thing. It's weird to think that after dining at a Michelin star restaurant you would be sitting there discussing how good a steamed potato is when you were just served lobster but Brunos speciality dish is truly the star. I really could not recommend this place more.More

Is heartbreaking to witness the fall of such a legend among well established restaurants especially when they fail in both service and food quality. Hopefully the location is still a plus and the landscaping amazing. But you always can find those for sure on the...coast closer to civilazation. Is a pity but I cannot recommend anymore this one which use to be one of my favourites.More

This is a bistro set in the tree covered square and has the benefit of very helpful and friendly staff. The “specials” are several and the hors d’oeuvres starter plate excellent. Highly recommend this eatery

If I could give this place a 6th star, I would. I am searching for words to describe our experience but I am just speechless. We came here with friends & were mind blown. The restaurant itself is stunning. The terrace has a canopy of...trees which were planted back in the day by Bruno’s grandma (we asked the waiter) this restaurant is so authentic, so amazing, so everything. The food was out of this world!!! The fois gras, the baked potato, the langouste, the dessert!!!! Absolute perfection! The waiters are so nice & informative. The sommelier was super funny & knew his stuff. Bruno’s son Benjamin also came around & gave us a brief lesson on truffles which was super cool. It is worth every penny. We were the last table to leave & ended up getting a tour of the kitchen & the grounds. If we are ever back in that area we are definitely coming back!More

The food here evidenced expert cooking, but I wouldn't call Chez Bruno a regular "restaurant" as only truffle dishes were offered. It is in its own rarefied category, namely "truffle restaurant". I've always enjoyed a sprinkling or hint of truffles on certain dishes now and...then, but just because you like a cozy fireplace doesn't mean you like firebombs, or like to eat fire! Good thing my wife (Scandinavian) wasn't with me that day, as she doesn't like truffles at all. I was tasting and breathing truffles for the next two days. The restaurant was quite full--amazing there are enough true truffle aficionados to keep it going. It may be that I (genetically Scandinavian and Scottish) have a hereditary intolerance for truffles. Chez Bruno offers good service and charming decor--I wish them all the best and highly recommend them to truffle lovers, but I won't be back!More

From beginning to end perfect. And I see they have added lobster to the menu. Best when the sun is shinning but warmth in the house all-around. First time there in 2010, gets better all the time. Go to Thoronet cloister before to set the...mood. Unforgettable.More
