What a seevice!

We have spent seven days in Benissa. We ate out almost every evening, but it was pur first dinner, where we were really welcomed and treated as awaited guests. The host was very politw, funny, gave advices for the dishes and was there when we needed him. The starters were the best of the evening: carpaccio, calamares and tuna was 10/10. Even our seconds were great! Really recommended!

Completely underrated pearl in Buena Vista

Top quality meat and fish. The tuna in all variations is highly recommended. The ambience inside is good for autumn and winter guests - outside could be improved or as real estate agents would write in advertisements "has potential". Very good selection of wines and a very nice host who greets everyone personally and says goodbye with a handshake.

La Buena Vida is a recommendable restaurant

We received a very friendly welcome and were given a table on the outside terrace. Both dishes were served beautifully on the plate and tasted very good. The recommended rose wine was also good and everything was fairly priced. We were served very friendly during our stay at La Buena Vida.

Disappointing

Having read all the good reviews, we decided to give this place a try. The menu del dia was a little limited with three starters and mains, two desserts and two drinks. We chose the salad and the scrambled egg for starters and the sea bass and duck for mains. Most were ok, but the duck was very poor and tough, as if it had been cooked before and reheated. Most of it was left. The limited desserts were offered and we chose the Vanilla Ice Cream, what we actually got was a Strawberry Sorbet. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, but the overall the experience was very disappointing. The menu del dia is €17.50, but by the time the water and balance of the wine was added, the total came to €43.60, too much for a very average lunch. Bearing in mind we were the only two people in the restaurant for lunch, they should have done much better. We will not be returning. If this is the Number One Restaurant in Benissa, heaven help the others.

We went back to Buena Vida after half a year and had dinner on the terrace. We knew beforehand that the terrace was in a desolate state. Chairs and tables without tablecloths from the 80s, a completely dirty and broken roof and very unloving, old and broken decoration. In the past, this was made up for by the good food (see also our review from August 2023) But now a new operator and new chef! There was nothing to complain about with the starters Tuna Tataki and Tartar Atun. Well seasoned and delicious. That's it! The main courses were really not good at all! An entrecote that was served in a gray color and looked really a bit disgusting. Probably straight from the freezer into the pan and unloving side dishes. Everything completely unseasoned. It stopped completely with the pork fillet. Tough and served with Maggi sauce. The meat was so tough and dry that it had been frozen for more than 9 months. Inedible! Gambas al ajillo came dead in defrosting water instead of sizzling in oil. They were also ordered very spicy and instead of fresh chilis they came with cheap chili spice. After the meal we thought that at least they would have acceptable espresso, but even that was inedible. Apparently old, bitter beans. The service was again more in the slapstick area. Completely inattentive, overwhelmed and clueless. Even the basics of gastronomy are at preschool level here. It's all a real shame! But we will never go here again.

Very rude waiters

We came to this restaurant on the first night of our holiday as it was very close to our villa. We were booked in at very short notice and pleased to have a table. As we arrived at the restaurant we were shown to our table and then completely ignored for around 30 minutes. Despite trying several times to get the waiters attention, we appeared invisible. I eventually got up and asked for some drinks, this was met with absolute disgust and the waiter very aggressively asked me to sit down. When he eventually came to take our order he was very impatient, unfriendly and not impressed by our best attempts to speak Spanish. The drinks arrived, which he slammed onto the table, knocking one over our daughter and soaking my phone, he made no attempt to help to clear it up and blamed the child for spilling the drink. We were at this stage not happy to order food and asked for the bill. The waiter laughed at us and muttered something about English people. We were charged for the spilt drink and no apology was given. As we left the restaurant the manger asked us why we were leaving, when we told him about the rude waiter he seemed genuinely sorry. We were planning on visiting this restaurant a few times over our holiday as it was walking distance from our villa. What a shame the waiter let them down, I hope this improves.

Very quiet as it is not the holiday season but a really lovely meal, beuatifully cooked and presented. Excellent service, very friendly and they did well to put up with my very bad spanish! Well worth a visit. Gracias

We came for the menu of the day it's within walking distance of our villa it was excellent so we booked curry night for the Saturday - very nice food again. The staff are lovely friendly polite helpful and excellent service and reasonably priced.

Super friendly and real good kitchen with Spanish - Indian influence but good quality dishes

This is really a mix from Spanish Indian and European in a chique environment. This is still a restaurant with restaurant service and atmosphere. Not that it is a Michelin star restaurant but it’s high level in service food quality and friendliness. A little of plates are really the house signature disks. As tatami de tuna. Or seabass in sell. Or other tuna dishes. Really good wines also for a fair price. Well done and a super place.

Fabulous restaurant tucked away in the hills

We're travelling along the east coast of Spain and came across thus by accident,we're staying in the aire which accessed the restaurant through the forest The staff were so welcoming and charming, my lover had the meal of the day which was calamari , then gazpacho, then an entrecote which was incredible I had Caprese salad , delicious and mustard chicken which was cooked to perfection. We also shared a creme brulee All in all fantastic value for most delicious food in a beautiful setting

This place was a big disappointment. The service is average and you can definitly say the same about the food. Best case: average and overpriced. Its not horrible, just average. The rating on Tripadvisor is outdated and the same is the menu - perhaps because the a new owvner? The picturs on Tripadvisor is from 5-7 years ago. The Paella was burned and no way valencian standard. And then there is some indian dishes on the menu - it does not make any sense.

A very friendly restaurant, with high class food! We had seabass in salt, the best I ever had. They have a great chef and the service of the two men is high class! We will come back for dure!!

Nice agreeable place.. The food is price Quallity super good. The atmosphere is very attractive and the owner is very customer focussed. We have been drinking a very good Rioja for 33 euro and had perfect starter and main dish.

Great food

Love it here, we always visit when we’re in Moraira. The owner is great, waiting staff are fab and the food is brill. Sit on the terrace if you get the weather for it.
