Decided to go here last night having heard it had new management. Bar staff extremely welcoming and efficient. My son and myself had a lovely meal very reasonably priced well set out and very tasty. Understand its being refurbished soon and will be even better.

I understand this lovely pub is under new management . The food under the last management was excellent . The welcome was good from front of house but the food was dire !! Over cooked and tasteless . Won't be eating there again . So difficult to complain when you're a guest and someone else is paying . I have... More

Went there today..4/12/16..lovely pub.. Friendly staff.. Shame no bar snacks in the afternoon... But the biggest issue is the toilets.. Well I can only speak about the gents.. Mould on sink..peeling paint..stench beyond belief.. Sorry..but if you can't keep your toilets clean what is the kitchen like!!??

Great to see this traditional village local under friendly, welcoming management again. Beer is great as always, and menu is developing a good reputation. looking forward to making many more excuses to drag myself down here again and again!

They do 2 sittings for Sunday lunch 12.30 and 2.30 so its advisable to book as it is quite small. The roast lamb dinner was very nice, just like a home cooked meal with lovely roasties and gravy. My only negative was that we could not see how much anything cost, there was a board stating the items for lunch... More

Visited here for Sunday lunch with family. Service was very good, but that's where the good review ends. Food was bland and roast potatoes were so hard I couldn't put my knife in them, let alone cut them. Didn't have starters or dessert and won't go again. It was busy and felt a bit like a squashed sardine (don't really... More

Lovely evening meal with my husband and niece. Stayed at Trecco Bay holiday park only a 15 min walk away. Menu choice was not very big and they had sold out of a couple of the main meals but staff were friendly and service very good. Would eat here again.

Arrived at 1.30 ( having tried to book at 11 but noone answered the phone. Beach walk nearby, so after our dog walk we thought we would try our luck. At 1.30 the menus hadn't been printed ! As a non meat eater, my choice ( verbal offering as no menu)was breaded plaice, lasagne or curry. All frozen off back... More

First time visiting the jolly sailor for food and it has exceeded expectations. My partner and I both had the rib eye steak with chips and all the trimmings. It was cooked to perfection and it's nice to see that this local traditional village pub are using local butchers. Bar staff were extremely welcoming and atmosphere friendly. We will be... More
