The staff are friendly and helpful. The food always tastes good. You are able to order wine or other liquor with your meal if you wish.

As long as you have the right expectations for the food and service at the hotel, you will have a good time. This is a smaller town so I wasn't expecting much, my expectations were met. That said, it is a good value for what you're getting, especially for a smaller town. I only stayed 1 night, and my stay... More

The food isn't to bad and some of it is quite good, don't go to the lounge to eat as the service is terrible, sat for 20 min then finally went and got the menus ourselves, left after another 15 with the waitress walking by but never stopping to take our order, no drink no food. Went into restaurant and... More

I went here twice. The brunch was incredible. A huge spread of food that is prepared with perfection in mind. The dinner I had here was very good. Much higher quality than you would expect considering the seemingly low number of people here. I would say that this is the highest quality dining in Hay River.

This is probably the best place in town, however far from glamorous but did the job for the short business trip. Restaurant inside was excellent with great service,

I spent the weekend in Hay River. the Keys restaurant was the best part of the hotel. Expensive - but you need to expect that given the location. The service was attentive.

This is the best place to have breakfast, nothing overcooked or greasy. Coffee was good, not overly strong.

Went here for the Sunday brunch buffet and if was delicious. Fresh everything, from Eggs, bacon, french toast and pancakes to fresh fruit platters, salad station, the best hummus, and a chocolate fondue. A couple negatives included fondue with nothing to dip in it, and one of the cooks came and just sat in the restaurant while we ate, though... More

The Ptarmigan Inn is in Hay River, NWT, not Ellenburg. Ptarmigan Inn is located in the centre of Hay River, which makes it very handy for meals during curling weekends, as it is just across the street from the rink and recreation centre.
