We arrived at the restaurant on recommendation of a well known guide book, we were not made to feel welcome from the start and nearly walked away (shame we didn't). We were seated outside which was very noisy and air polluted by heavy traffic. Nobody smiled or engaged in conversation with us. It took 20-30 minutes to be offered drinks,... More

We were visiting Ercolano and staying in the Villa Batista, which is owned by the owners of this restaurant too. We went early as we arrived on Saturday thinking we might need to book. And we did. We had to book and come back an hour later. So we asked if we could get a drink first but was pointed... More

Excellent food, one of the best meals from our trip to the Amalfi Coast. Service was fantastic as well. The price cannot be beaten for the quality of the meal.

Very nice restaurant for lunch or diner. Certainly not the typical Pizza restaurant. I enjoyed it very much

Owned by our hotel, Villa Battista, Lo Re was a cute trendy wine bar, blackboard menu and good food. Our feelings though if you are in Italy for the Italian experience this is NOT the place to go. You can eat in a trendy wine bar anywhere in the states.

This restaurant is immense popular... And not without a reason.. The food is really good. There is a handwritten menu on a blackboard, which is Italian. Like in more restaurants we went in this regio not a bilingual menu, but it is a problem that the waiters are too busy so they had hardly time to explain to us the... More

Walk a couple of hundred metres east from the Herculaneum exit and you'll find this little gem of a place, serving great food in a lovely atmospheric dining room. There was a comprehensive wine list, too. The day's menu is displayed on a chalk board - lots of fresh fish dishes, but some meat and vegetarian alternatives. Amazing chocolate-based puddings... We are staying in Ercolano for only one night and wanted a good meal. We looked at Trip Advisor and decided to walk along the Main Street to Vivo lo Re. How pleased we are are that we did! The restaurant was empty when we arrived (7.30), but soon filled up, mostly with locals. The restaurant is exciting and the... More

The restaurant is a 10-minute walk from the excavations. Very nicely decorated. There was no English menu - the daily menu was written in Italian on a chalk board. I didn't really get a lot of help with the menu, and ended up ordering a pasta dish that was truly excellent, but very small in size, so that I had... More
