Nice breeze and view but not worth it

Nice ocean breeze and view on the eating veranda. Long wait for the food though, shrimp creole on avocados was cold or luke warm which shouldn’t as creole comes from the stove hot. The chicken creole mofongo was not eatable was made with chicken breast whoever it was hard and dry more likely because it didn’t cook like creole should and they likely used dried up chicken or reheated cooked chicken breast. Again food took too long to get even for a simple child’s plate. Not worth the cost based on these issues

The good: Amazing location on the water and really cool interior. Good beer deals and a large menu. The terrible: BUT stay away from the seafood salads as they dont have flavor, appetizers are nice. Make absolute sure your waiter takes your correct order or else they wont apologize nor take it off the menu. The tall skinny guy, ask for a different server or expect mistakes.

Reviews seem to be mixed on Annie's. We were there for lunch and have no complaints. The service was prompt - if not hugely attentive. The food was tasty and enjoyable - although the servings are large (like most places in PR). Eating while looking out over kms of white sand and the sea was really pleasant. Would go back.

DON’T GO!!

We drove 3 hours to eat here with our family, we got there at 6:05pm ask for a table, we were told that they only had carry out and no tables. We explained to them that we drive from really far and we were willing to wait whatever was necessary and they had the audacity to tell us that even tho they close at 9:00pm we were not going to get any table no matter how long we waited. Don’t go there, eployees are rude and their customer service is trash!

Went here at the recommendation of our AirBNB host, and wish we had read the reviews here first. Great location on the water with awesome sunset views but that’s where anything nice about this place ends. Received our drinks and appetizers relatively quick; however after placing our main course orders and another round of drinks, we waited over 30 minutes and neither arrived. We asked about both and were told they would be out shortly, meanwhile other tables around us were seated and served promptly. Another 30 minutes go by at which point we decided to just cancel our order, pay for our drinks and appetizers and leave. Told one of the waitresses and she just acted indifferent, no apology or anything, but said she would take care of it. Check came and they tried to charge for everything. When we asked for an updated bill, we were told that we would need to speak with a manager. Manager never showed up at our table, but 5 minutes later, they started to bring our additional drinks and food, all of which we declined at this point. Finally then a correct bill arrived, we paid and left. Again no apologies from any of the staff - totally acted as if they couldn’t care less. Another thing to mention, the immediate area doesn’t have a lot of restaurants to choose from, only a few bars serving limited food, so this place is the monopoly. It could be awesome with a face lift on basic people skills and customer service. Totally worth the 30 minute drive away from here with many better options around. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Not worth the wait

From the beginning was a bad service because they wait too much to the waitress to take the order. When the food arrive it comes not all at onceand to top it it was almost cold. The place was as not full an they have staff thats why I was surprised for the tardiness. But the try to charge stuff thawe doesn’t order. It was terrible.

Not worth you time and money!!!!!!

After waiting for about 30 minutes, we still had to wait for our waiter who was not happy to be there, he couldn’t take the order properly and sounded bother with our order. He left in such a rush that we couldn’t order our drinks. We had to call someone else to get us drinks. When we finally got our food my daughter had order tostones with her pasta and got fries instead, my mofongo was lukewarm so hard that it was frustrating trying to eat it with the cheap plastic utensils the meats in it were tasteless and dry my husband’s shrimp were rubbery and cutting the steak was also a challenge. Button line, plates are small, expensive and service not the best.

Literally non existent service. The waitstaff is very good at ignoring you. They are definitely not revenue driven. The longest kitchen times on the Island, and yes, that’s a bold statement. Food is good IF and WHEN it arrives. AND here is a tip, if you order food to go, even if it’s as simple as a cup of Octopus, do not pay! This way, after 40 minutes waiting for a simple scoop and go item, you have the option to leave. I paid twice in the last month and after 40 minutes waiting, I left without the food. HORRIBLE. The owners obviously do not care, this restaurant has been consistently terrible for years.

The Food was good. The prices were high considering we could have gone across the street for similar food but much cheaper. The service was awful - our waitress made for an unpleasant dinner experience. She had an attitude the entire time. She came to our table to automatically ask for our drink order although my husband was not at the table and when she came back she didn’t even greet us, even when we greeted her and asked how she was doing. There was no rush as the place was not crowded at all. We paid for the location/view.

Scienic View but they act like they don't want your business

We were advised you can't visit Puerto Rico without visiting Annies. Granted it has an excellent location and Scenic setting. The menu is unique and varied, many excellent dishes. A little on the expensive side but not overly. So why did I give it only two stars? The employees were rude, we had five members in our group and they would not allow us to come in until I had a table that would accommodate 5 even though they had numerous smaller tables that could seat four and we could slide a seat over. I can understand their policy but not the way we were treated. We asked if we could sit at bar and order drinks while we waited and they flatly told us no. I can only assume that they get all the business they can handle and have no necessity to treat people nice. However I could deal with that if the food was served to us Worthy of the steep price. The calamari was the only highlight. The vegetables were stone cold, Grouper and Salmon cool. My friends asked for their dishes to be warmed up, only to get them still cool. We complained to Management and got very cool response and no respect. I spent over $200 plus $40 tip. We will never dine there again. Too many truly great dining establishments to be treated such as this.

Sunset Mofongo Dinner

I read the reviews and began to question if we should go base on negative reviews of staff. We were at La Playauella in El Faro and decided to have dinner with friends visiting from NJ. The wait was 20 minutes and we were seated at a perfect table to see the sunset. The waitresses were so kind, respectful and helpful, nothing like what we read in reviews. The lobster mofongos were delicious with chunks of lobster and tasty criolla sauce. The restaurant is sitting right on edge of Combate Beach and is a perfect location. If you are in Cabo Rojo you must visit Annie’s Place - Wonderful Experience!!

Service was terrible . Half occupancy due to Covid and even with that had to ask many times for things . Waitress got our first and only drinks because never came back to ask if anything else needed. Ordered ceviche and instead of telling me it was over they decided to throw a plate of fish on vinegar. Not one onion or lemon around it . Quality of food and service needs serios help ...

From the moment I parked @ Annies boutique rooms from a 3 hour San Juan drive I was treated like family , upon arrival Jasmine the mngr/boutique host greeted me warmly & swiftly checked me in then guided me around property while escorting me to my spacious seaside room pointed out all the rooms amenities , She assisted In scheduling a prime ocean view table location for my family reunion lunch . Jasmine turned out to be a huge asset in my 4 day stay along w everyone @ Annies place restaurant helped my stay to be a pleasant one no one more than my server Wilma she went above & beyond in accommodating all my dining requests as if we were long time friends she made awesome dinner recommendations , thank you both Jasmine & Wilma for making this trip a fulfilling/ relaxing one . I will be back for sure !

Over an hour wait and horrible service

Horrible service. We waited OVER AN HOUR for our food to come out. There was 8 of us at the table and only 2 plates came out after an hour of waiting, the other 6 plates took another half hour to come out. The waitress never checked up on our table again after the food came out and I would definitely say the food was very average for the price.

my family and I, which was a party of 5, arrived around 2:30 pm. The moment we got to the host stand we waited 10-15 minutes to be seated and it was not busy at all to have waited that long. As soon as we sat down, the server took another 10-15 minutes to even take our drink order. In those 15 mins we already had our order ready and we placed it along with the drink order. Drinks came out right away but the food took around 2 HRS!! they mentioned they were understaff after we asked how much longer for our food to come out. (That was 1hr after we placed the order.) the server only came around 1 time and that was just to drop off the drinks. Food is not worth the price and we had to return multiple meals due to rotten food in our dishes. Besides pricing and staff, there was 0 hospitality.
