Really, REALLY nice place to get good beer and great local food this one. Converted old school house, it has bags of character and is really the only example locally of a GOOD gastro pub I can think of. Plenty CLAIM to be, but fail miserably.

Had a great evening at the Cholmondeley Arms with friends. Was very busy when we got there and we were warned of a long wait for a table but we're then seated in 15mins and enjoying the outstanding platter for starter. The ale and gin went down very well indeed and our food was top notch. Great old school house... More

Excellent restaurant and food was delicious and service excellent - busy too for a Monday night. We each had different choices but had no room for dessert as the servings were very generous.

This little old converted schoolhouse is set in a lovely quiet area of the countryside. A very cozy and homely atmosphere with a roaring log fire. Ordered our food which was very nice. Staff lovely. The only downside For me was that my meal was served on the narrowest piece of wood and therefore my food actually kept falling off... More

I was here last Friday night for a friend's wedding over the weekend. They had hired out an area in the pub. It was fantastic food (for vegetarians too) and great atmosphere. It's also based in a lovely setting.

A last minute decision to find a pub with rooms. The rooms being seperate from the pub which ensured a quiet night in a clean and well presented room. However the real gem was the pub with its fun and characterful ambience, excellent food, friendly staff, magnificent choice of beers and gin. The starter of scampi and small sausages were supplemented... More

We have been before, but some time ago. We were literally passing and wondered if food would be available as it was about 10 to 5. Yes we could choose off the light lunches board. There were 7 items. This may not seem many, but enough for me to be spoilt for choice. In the end I plumped for the... More

I met an old friend here for lunch, I've passed it on many occasions but never been before. I loved the interior very rustic, bar staff were very welcoming and the food was gorgeous. We both opted for the special of the beef bap with chips. Gorgeous tender beef lots of filling chips thick and tasty. We finished with coffee,... More
