i had never eaten here before I had booked a table for nine for a surprise 50th birthday including 2 grandchildren for which the inn had some colouring paper and crayons for them which was a nice touch. the staff were very accommodating and so pleasurable the food was superb and a lovely ambience which made the whole experience worth every penny. Well done to all

We were lucky to be able to make a booking on the Saturday for Sunday lunch, since when we arrived at 1pm every table (except for ours) was occupied. The set menu price isn't the lowest you can find, however the food was all delicious and well presented, and the portions very generous so it was good value for money. Despite being a busy period the food and service was prompt. We'll be back, however next time I might skip the starter in order to save space to try a pudding.

We took a group of 14 to lunch at the end of a weekend of very big birthday celebrations and were treated to an outstanding Sunday lunch Everyone thought the food was excellent both starters and main, no one had room for the desserts. Highlight was the yorkshire puddings which were about the size of Yorkshire. This brasserie continues to serve high quality meals consistently

We had been recommended by friends, and reading previous reviews I see my opinion of the restaurant is very different from other’s. Firstly the atmosphere- the main dining room is in a conservatory and so lacks ‘the country pub’ feel. We are here at night so there were no views to be had, and for us the table and room lacked charm. There was also a distinct lack of delicious aromas. Service was ok but the food was very disappointing. The menu was overly wordy and every dish we had lacked flavour. I ordered aubergine parmigiana as a main course, which bore very little resemblance to the original, which I found inedible. The restaurant did not charge us for this dish. Our party of four were all very underwhelmed by the standard of cooking and we shall not be returning.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We're sorry to see you haven't enjoyed your eveninhg with us on this occasion. Unfortunately our conservatory is an extention to our original pub area and so you would not see some of the original features the older area does have. However, we feel we have made this space a light and airy atmosphere to dine in with a clean and open feel, which does suit most people. We are a little confused by your comments on the views as you correct in saying it was night time, therefore dark and not something we can help. If you visit during the day time you will see we do have a lovely outside space. In regards to your parmigiano, we are sad to see you haven't enjoyed it as you are the first person to have complained about it since it being on our menu. We find our chefs have created a delicious dish which diners have enjoyed but as you said, may not be to your taste. We were unaware of any other members of your party being unsatisfied by their starters and mains so unfortunately cannot rectify these after you have left. We always try and make sure all customers are happy on the evening and to fix any issues there are on the night. We hope you have a more pleasant dining experience in the future.

I am not one to leave bad reviews but our experience yesterday evening was truly dire. We arrived at 8pm, and rather than being asked whether we’d prefer to sit indoors or out, were seated at a table right next to the staff area where they were using the phone / loud coffee machine, with very much a cafe vibe. We could see numerous available tables in the much nicer conservatory, but for some reason were sat amongst the staff. Not a great start. We were then told that the chef was isolating and as a result, almost half of the menu was unavailable (including the things we’d been keen on). The remaining options were much less exciting than the sample menu online, which have the impression of it being a nice gastropub. As none of my preferred mains were available, I ordered what was supposed to be pan fried sea bass with a salad of potatoes, crayfish and olives. I thought it sounded unusual but figured it’d be carefully balanced salad and that I might be pleasantly surprised. How very wrong! The “salad” had almost certainly been microwaved because the food was unbelievably hot, and was literally just boiled potatoes, crayfish and large chunks of olive. The sea bass had no colour on it at all - the skin was soggy and grey. I would be very surprised if it had actually been pan fried. In the restaurants defence it was edible, but certainly not worth close to £18, and I ate about five mouthfuls before giving up. The real issue, however, was the service. At no point did anyone bother to ask us how the food was - not during eating, nor when they cleared my almost full plate, nor when they brought the bill. If they had, I’d have spoken to them directly and not written on here. However, that didn’t happen and there was very much a feeling that they just wanted us out. The only positives are that we were moved to an outside table on request, and the drinks were brought quickly. I would certainly not go back, however, and wouldn’t recommend it. The restaurants in Broadway are much nicer.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We're very sorry you've not enjoyed your time with us. We do always try to make a customer's experience a great one and seem to have fallen short for you. We do automatically allocate tables inside but will always move you outside if you ask, we didn't know you wanted to sit outside and therefore didn't move you but would have immediately if we had known. Our food is home made and we do not use a microwave to heat food at all. Our Seabream dish is pan fried and we have found to be our most popular but I will pass the comments onto our chef. We do currently have a chef self isolating and so it does mean our preparation of fresh ingredients has halted for a few days and we have been unable to keep a supply of some items and they're all made and created on site. We do still have a varied menu and we offer what we can rather than close all together. We have found customers have been understanding of this during difficult scenarios during this pandemic and ever changing situation. I have passed your comments to the staff working that evening but we do also encourage customers to tell us of they're unhappy and if the meals are as bad as you are saying, then to call us to their table using the paddles or service buzzer to alert us so we can fix the issues there and then. We are very sorry you felt you were not wanted in the restaurant, we served over 70 people on Tuesday and are very grateful for all custom. We hope to see you again if you choose to dine with us in the future.

Having booked a table, over a week in advance from a recommendation we were very disappointed. We waited whilst people without a reservation were seated, then had to wait 15 minutes to be served a drink and then told the special was unavailable. We were then informed that it would be 45 minutes before an order for food could be taken -really! It was busy outside by the restaurant was not full. Non apologetic staff and not very friendly

I'm slightly confused by this review. There are a few points I would like to address. If this our restaurant that you were suppose to write a review for then I'm assuming it was for a Saturday evening. This Saturday we had filled our booking capacity for the kitchen at 100 so we do leave tables empty if we cannot take anymore bookings. We only took bookings on Saturday with no non booked customers allowed to dine with us so nobody apart from people wanting to have a drink in our bar area would have been signed in. We also do not have any specials on at the moment at all due to covid restrictions not allowing people to walk around, so we would have only presented you with a full menu anyway. We wouldn't have run out of specials as we do not have any. Our wait time for ordering at 8pm had gone to 5 minute wait as our chef had cut his hand and was receiving medical care. Our waitress wild have informed you that she could not take an order "for another 5 minutes" which may have been misinterpreted as 45minutes, I can assure you that nobody would wait 45 minutes to order. Our staff are working very hard under pressure at the moment so we are sorry you felt you received a bad service. We hope you have a better experience next time if you choose us again. Thank you

I went for a meal with my family, there was 6 of us. We rung up the night before to book a table and they fit us in right away. We all had been recommended the inn & brasserie by friends and family so thought we would give it a try. The menus very simplistic however a fair variety. Not your normal pub grub. Seemed like they were going for a gastro pub effect. The drinks menu had a very small amount of gins totalling about 12 different gins total, the wine list seemed to be quite varied. However no other drinks were featured on the drinks menu which was a slight shame. All the food came out together and all had great presentation. I had the burger and it was lovely very filling, some of my party however did not feel the meal was good value for the price of the dish. We all had space for dessert which we don’t usually do that was a bit of a shock. Overall the service was great very fast paced, only complaint we did have was, the cheese board had pieces of plastic stuck in one of the cheeses where I think the chef may have accidentally missed it. Which wasn’t a problem we just picked around it, everything else on the meal was spot on so we decided to not say anything or complain as it was not necessary, will defiantly be back to try a couple more bits and bobs

We enjoyed a lovely welcome and excellent food for three courses; portions were generous and the food was all of a very good standard. The restaurant was fairly quiet when we visited in the evening, with three or four other tables dining. Our only issue was that the staff were stacking up chairs, clearing up and keenly wanting to end the evening at 8.30 onwards and this made us feel uncomfortable - our table was booked for 8pm and it can make customers feel very uneasy when packing up starts just after the starter. The early packing up would make us not visit again - this should and could have been done after the last customer had left. Other than this, the evening would have been just fine.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your comments regarding packing up must be in relation to our outside area. We do no stack chairs but we do push them forward if rain is due. This is to make sure our seating doesn't get soaking wet and we do this once the outside area starts to clear. We unfortunately can't always leave this until the very end as when it is due to rain, we don't have enough time to get all the seating cushions etc before they get ruined in the rain. It's an unfortunate thing but when visiting in months where the weather is uncertain then it is something we do have to do but as said, we do not move chairs or stack them, just push them forward. We are sorry this puts you off dining with us and hopefully in the summer months this will not be necessary to do.

Absolutely superb meal with genuinely one of the best roasts I have ever had. Two huge slices of beef cooked to perfection. We had one child's meal (the 'smaller' roast) that was equally amazing and excellent value for money. Sticky toffee pudding was superb. Be aware this is not an ancient Cotswolds pub full off nooks and crannies - this is functional space in a smart modern environment that felt safe without being over the top. I cannot wait to return.

This is a busy pub on a Sunday, so you'll need to book. It's a little outside of the main tourist area of Broadway situated in a small village. The Sunday menu is fixed price 2 or 3 courses, with roasts on offer. The appetisers were varied and the main courses were all good portions, with veg served separately. The service was good, prompt and the facilities all clean. The pub is able to cater for dietary needs, just let the staff know in advance, although we said as we sat down, but it was no issue for the kitchen to make a small change.

Thank you to Carol and her excellent staff for everything they did to help us celebrate my Dad’s 80th birthday, Nothing was too much trouble and they were all extremely accommodating, even producing a vegan menu. The food was excellent as usual and it was a perfect end to a lovely day. Very Covid-19 safe, with excellent measures in place. Thank you all for all your hard work during these difficult times.

I have nothing but positives to say about this gem of a place. Very clean and welcoming. Lovely views and a really fresh and a warm fresh feeling. Now the food.... What a great winter menu!!. Some pub classics but also some delicious and unique dishes which all sounded so wonderful that it was really hard to pick what to eat. It is rare to find a place with such variety and deliciousness all in one. As you can see from the pictures the presentation of the food is amazing and It all tasted devine!! I cannot fault the food just my stomach for not having enough room to eat even more! I think it is very reasonable priced for fresh, home cooked,.original dishes and I would not hesitate is going out of my way to visit this gem again. Amazing!!!

Fantastic food and service with excellent choice on the menu including steak for Thursday night speciality night. Nothing was too much trouble including chef accommodating Guest allergies and preferences. Food arrived piping hot and well presented. COVID restrictions imposed comprehensively but sensitively. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend a visit to this restaurant if you are in the area.

While we had a perfectly pleasant meal, we were a little disappointed, having read all these rave reviews beforehand. Maybe we made an unlucky choice but I thought there were a few flaws with the food. The fat on duck was soggy and the vegetables far too al dente. However the surroundings were attractive and Covid secure. Service was very efficient - a little too much so as we felt we were being rushed through our dinner.

Thank you for leaving us a review. We have shown our chefs your comments and we hope they use them in a positive manner to improve on their cooking of future meals. We have also had a meeting to discuss the flow of the evening, we are under pressure at the moment with the new laws to still have peiple dine with us versus being able to do enough covers to warrant being open at all. We're sorry that you felt rushed, this is mostly definitely not our intention and we always try to ensure a smooth and pleasant visit. We hope to see you again soon

My wife and myself visited the Childswickham Inn for a meal to celebrate my birthday yesterday. Table service by Cerian was very professional and considerate under the current measures and the pub was lovely and clean. I had the Saag chicken curry which was absolutely delicious and my wife chose the lasagna which she very much enjoyed. Thank you for a lovely birthday treat.
