"Wait to be seated" they write on their walls and if you are an Indian you will only wait. Over two days, thrice we tried getting a table here. Either the staff here look through us, look away or disappear behind walls/trees. I seriously wonder how this kind of a place grew to be one of the most popular cafes... More

Hi, I am so stupefied to see your comment. You are telling us that I and my team (who are all from Pondicherry & Tamil Nadu) are not letting you sit because you are Indian?! I wonder how such idea came to your head. Did you ask yourself that maybe you could not find a place because we have limited... More

We did at a daily stop at this quirky cafe every day to rest and enjoy some food and drinks: - great crepes just like in france - excellent french baguette ( get it solo just with butter and jam or as a sandwich ) - great selection of teas and coffees - friendly staff - comfortable seating both inside... Myself and boyfriend visited Pondi over Christmas when it was incredibly busy everywhere. We'd tried a couple of times to get into Café des Arts so very pleased to get a table on our last morning in Pondi. The breakfast was delicious but the best bit of the experience was our waiter who spoke excellent English, was very helpful and... More

If you want to taste the complete French style of foods then this place should be your choice. We planned for breakfast here. We waited for the table for about an hour. The hotel open at 8:30 am closes at 4:00pm. It is situated beside the villa shanthi hotel . This restaurant also situated in the white town , french... More

You cannot help but falling in love with this cafe in the first sight. From the ambience to the food, the place is brilliant. It has an indoor and outdoor seating. Whether you are travelling solo or with a company, do not miss out this place.

Went there for breakfast and thought it was very expensive for just having 2 eggs with 2 toast and butter. And also a teat pot was 120 rupees. If you have the money to spend it might be very good.

Dear costumer, I am sorry to see your comment. Café des Arts is more of an experience. You can lounge on 1940's antique genuine furniture and decor while you enjoy your breakfast or your lunch. You have also free wifi and a artbook library to explore. We are situated in a 1880's mansion with a garden in the most touristic... More

The cafe is managed by a French women who has converted a Governor's bungalow into the restaurant... The food is made fresh and is just amazing and is famous for breakfast!! The cafe is also an art gallery where you can enjoy the art work displayed... There is no pressure of leaving and hence there are long waiting queue's, so... More

the food doesn't matter (though its tasty and unique to the indian palate); the service doesn't matter. what matters is the ambience. you go back some 40-50 yrs to a laid back time with cushy corners, books on shelves, an old house, nostalgia and a lot of gupshup (gossip). the food is tasty- no second thoughts.

While yo do your sightseeing in Pondicherry, you can stop here for lunch. They serve very good tasty food. We had few sandwiches which were out of the place. Their omlettes were also good and also the pancakes were too good. There was waiting and people seem to occupy tables for long time. This is simply good place and request... More
