This cafe hasn't changed much over the years. I have been there a number of times over the last 20 years or more as we often go walking in the area. The decore is the same, the cabinet food is okay, nothing spectacular but the service is pretty good and the outdoor seating area is lovely. Went there again today... More

Popped in for a snack after a tramp, such a beautiful secret garden, unfortunately we were unable to Walk around it because of the rain. Good food, service was a little slow, but didn't bother us as we were taken in by the beautiful views. Lovely spot to stop in when traveling or to relax after a tramp.

This place only survives because there is nothing else around. Service is unfriendly and very slow. The prices are ridiculous for ordinary food and the place looks like it needs a good clean.

Here for breakfast but found the service slow and coffee ordinary. I had a very old fashioned and not that wonderful breakfast. Few choices on the menu that appealed. I felt it was not worth the $ paid

Whow! So much happening to make this an extremely NOT recommended place. Walking in it was beautiful and we thought we found a hidden gem, but alas half the menu not available, customer service even worse. Coffee not recommended. Cabinet food looked good and if customer service was better, we would have considered buying from it. Do not expect food... More

Found this cafe on our last trip to New Zealand a few years ago and stopped again this February when we were in New Zealand. Great coffee and cake, served by friendly staff.

as a vegetarian I was so excited to see such a great menu and to feel like I'm was eating something decent. This place really stood out for me. The spinach and feta filo was fantastic. The Mocha was ok. Sitting outside in the garden was the best!

Wanted to walk the track at the Karangahake Gorge so we decided to have a coffee and checked out the Talisman Cafe. Interesting place with lots of historical information and photos of the former Mining Town. Coffee was good and the sweet pumpkin loaf was delicious.

We stopped for a coffee on our way through the magnificent Gorge. The coffee was fine and my apple and date cake was very nice but it was the surroundings that were amazing and it was worth it just for this. The garden had amazing carved fences and an enormous lump of pink quartz and a petrified tree trunk. Inside... More

So much to see here. Very interesting and opposite the Karangahake Gorge parking areas with lots of great walks.
