Came here two evenings running as we were staying 50 yards away at the excellent Robin Hood Farm B&B. Very popular during the daytime, especially at weekends with local walkers as it's at the start of fabulous walks to Birchen edge or Chatsworth the other way. Stone floor so they don't mind walking boots! The food was excellent, I had... More

We've eaten here a few times. The food is good honest pub food. Drinks are well priced and they welcome walkers.

Went for dinner. Can't recommend the pie highly enough. Very accommodating staff. Great with our 18 month old. Will be back!

Situated in an excellent location is the only thing that I can imagine draw people to this 'pub'. Poor beer choice (no craft or interesting beers- just old school ale) and overpriced food. The WORST thing however was the service. When ordering a coffee, the woman was incredibly rude (I think frustrated at making a coffee - I know they're... More

After a long drive up from the south, the hunger pangs had started so having heard about this pub from my son who lives in Sheffield, we decided to follow the recommendation and were not disappointed. The warm atmosphere and friendly service put us at ease. Food was ordered at the bar along with some ale. The food arrived in... More

Wonderful place to grab a beer after a day of walking. Its a very traditional pub. Food is standard pub far and was good.

We were staying in Baslow and though the Inn/Pub looked nice, so we walked in. First impressions far from what we expected of a Northern pub just down the road from Chatsworth. The interior: stark and cold looking. The anticipation of a good fish and chips was beginning to look iffy, particularly when a glass of wine needed to be... More

Called in after visiting chatsworth as we'd eaten here a few years ago and found them very accommodating and the food was delicious. Not the case this time. I asked for beef but at 230pm on a Sunday they had sold out of this option. Strange as there were only two meats on the Sunday menu. I figure they must... More

Out for a Sunday drive & walk round Chesterfield and decided to have a lunch break on the way home- saw lots of cars and thought we would try this pub. Well, what a bonus- when we went in the place was buzzing- only 3 reserved tables left. The helpful bar staff said we could have one which was reserved... More
