We stopped in here for dinner with friends and our 3 kids. The good was pretty good. The place is quite quirky and kind of like a beach shack place. Couldn't really argue with the price of food and happy hour on beers is always a plus.

We went here with nine other friends, all ordering fish, chips and mushy peas, all our food was clearly cooked at the same time as we were all served together. The meals were piping hot, the batter very light and non greasy and overall a very good meal. Ripples is not an up market fish restaurant by any stretch of the... More

Excellent, basic food. Very friendly and reliable. Excellent service. Decor is rustic; canvas roof, stone floor. Sport television is always on, with some news programmers at 6 pm. Take-away available.

Went here for a dinner with myself, my partner and my two year old girl. The menu we were presented was full of lovely meals to choose from. I had the mussel chowder from the appetizers which was more like a main size which was amazing. The best chowder I have ever had. And the Greek salad was beautiful. The... More

Have always received value for money here their menu is extensive and the meals are big. You can go for goumet burgers, mussells in their "special sauce", a range of salads, steak and nice chunky fries which are always delicious. The drinks are a good price (cheaper than most places) and the service always frinedly and efficient.

Too many random factors come into play that determine how good (or not) the food is; who's cooking, the staff, how busy it is. Overpriced and overrated the majority of time.

The staff are brilliant, the food is basic 'Kiwi' and the Café is less than average in atmosphere. However we've been there a few times now and never disappointed with the food or service.

Terrible winters night in Auckland, went into Ripples, warm cosy atmosphere, and very friendly staff. It was a busy night as big game of rugby being televised. Had Scollops (8) huge scollops, and so juicy. All the meals being served were of very large servings, and everybody commented on the good quality. A damn good night out.

Thought I would treat ourselves to Friday night Fish n Chips, would normally go to Drunken Crayfish but as it was packed decided to go down to Ripples. Bad mistake got barely any chips and the hoki was dry and smelt. Def not fresh at all. Ended up chucking it out and having to cook. Unfortunately wont go back after... More
