It's easy to see why this restaurant is voted top in Tripadvisor for Castelnaudary. There are several set menus to choose from and typically French, as is the A la carte menu. The food is excellent and portions generous. A good wine list starting from around 20 euros. The house specialty is Cassoulet but I chose the 25 euro menu... More

We stopped here for lunch during a long drive across southwest France, and we were so glad we did! We had a table in the garden, which overlooked a yard containing two very cute alpacas. The staff were very helpful in explaining the specials of the day, but we all chose the cassoulet, which was sensational. Paired with a lovely... More

This was the start of our tour of the canal midi we had a great lunch , it was a very hot day and the garden was in shade and very pretty place to eat , the downside was the flies as there were animals in the pens both live chickens and alpacas which was interesting but brought with it... More

A lovely lunch today with two other couples. A short walk from the Castelnaudary marina. A family restaurant, multiple generations serving. Particularly friendly to a partially Frnch speaking group. Only two of us have French. If you're not sold on Cassoulet, there are plenty of delicious alternatives. The wine recommended - one 'forte' and one 'legere' - were excellent. Put... More

Ate with two other couples from our boats. Service and food was excellent. Cassoulet was rated excellent by everyone (I am not a great fan so had excellent grilled duck instead). Waiter helped us pick a red which turned out to be the best red we have drunk in our five months in France. Quite reasonably priced too Just wish... More

We arrived late, past service. The owner knew that we had walked all the way from the canal so kindly let us eat still. We enjoyed the Cassoulet. Great service and ambience in a lovely garden setting.

This family run restaurant is a joy! It is a little out of town but walkable. The food is wonderful, everything is made in the restaurant kitchen. You can tell that they have been making the local speciality for a long time. The wine list is just about the right length with sufficient choice but not so long as to... More

There were four of us and we ordered four different appetizers, four different main courses and four different desserts....and we kept passing the plates around the table so nobody missed out on anything! Every bite was a dream come true. The wine list was lovely and the staff was friendly, polite and professional. I have to recommend the Cassoulet here,... More

Having walked to the restaurant from the Canal through hail and cold winds with plans to savour their cassoulet, the four of us were told the kitchen was closed although we had just seen the cook staff outside having a smoke! It was not even 1:30 and as cassoulet is cooked ahead of time, there is very little for the... More

After a year in France, one of my last meals was here with a neighbour. The first thing to advise, do not be put off by the location behind a petrol station. Because once you're inside, it really is a great restaurant. Firstly, excellent and friendly service from the staff. Its a family run affair and that shows in the... More
