Simply the best in Barga! Many excellent restaurants in town makes it difficult to pick our favorite...but it seems that L’Altana is consistently our top pick! Every aspect of the restaurant is perfect, the setting, the staff and of course the most amazing food made...and served with love and passion. You will probably have to book, make sure to do so and don’t miss out! Constantly evolving seasonal and local menu with a few staples always present. Great quality and value wine list...from the supermarket economical house wines to their fantastic Rosso and Brunello de Montalcino’s. Oh, and save space for a little desert...also homemade and amazing!More

I eat here often, you need to book as it's always full. Great food, nice service. It's a 50 minute drive from my house, not a problem as I think it's well worth driving there. When guest stay I have this high on the list...of places to go.More

A local from Barga recommended L'Altana among any other area restaurants. We tried it out and could not have been more satisfied. We started with the homemade pasta, which was cooked perfectly in a delicious and tangy red sauce. We then had our main course...-- a pork tenderloin with green peppercorn sauce. We couldn't stop eating and were completely full by the end, sadly leaving no room for dessert. You will not be disappointed in this charming restaurant.More

This family restaurant is a gem. The food is delicious (especially their home made pasta) and the service is always friendly. It was a real pleasure to come back.

This restaurant has good reviews on Tripadvisor and is highly recommended by locals, but our experience was just “OK”. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. Parking around this restaurant is horrible. We had a polenta dish that was not very good....Wine was just OK as well. Maybe we just had a bad experience, but don’t know if I would recommend or return.More
