Very nice selection of food and we enjoyed three courses, starter of Abroath Smokie croquettes which were delicious, and main course of fish - which features widely at restaurants in the area. Both of us commented on the lovely but massive flakes on the cod fillets which wer beautifully cooked and set on top of linguine and a cream sauce.... More

I took my wife here for lunch as it was her first time. I visited here many years ago and then, it lived up to its reputation. This time, in spite of being very quiet, the food arrived 40 minutes after ordering and we did not order anything particularly complicated. The waitress was pleasant enough but after showing us to... We've been here steadily over the years and it is still good. Great service and great food, especially the fish / seafood choices. They also have good non alcoholic beer here, my favourite being Erdinger, not like that horrible Becks Blue stuff! Prices are reasonable too. 3 course dinner for four, with wine and other drinks was £144. Booking recommended... More

I wanted to treat my mother-in-law to a special birthday lunch - the food and service received were both excellent and needless to say she had a great afternoon. There's a great selection of beers at the bar, including real ales, a special wheat beer, three choices from the local Belgian style brewers and a few well known brands too.... More

Visited The Creel Inn with a group from work whilst entertaining foreign guests. Despite the restaurant being sort of remote to find the fish was so fresh and fantastic quality. Personally can recommend the scallops and cod dishes, whilst my colleague was extremely impressed by the mussels starter. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about what the dishes contained, as... More

It's been a while since we ate at The Creel in Catterline, but clearly it's been too long...! What a perfect combination of good food, friendly staff and a stunning setting at the cliff top. Mussels with sun-blushed tomatoes to start, monkfish and cod for main - all plentiful in proportion but beautiful to look at too. Most importantly, flavour... More

We had a memorable lunch at the Creel Inn. The special was Halliburt baked in the oven with dauphenoise potatoes with mushroom and asparagus sauce. The fish was so fresh it tasted like it was caught that morning. The sweets were amazing I had the crumble and my wife had the chocolate trio. The staff were great and very friendly.

Good, relaxed service, great food & lovely ambiance. The kids loved the fish poster too! (kept them out of too much mischief). Our 8 year old is a fish / seafood fanatic & thought he was in seafood heaven with the seafood sharing platter. A hidden gem.

Whilst visiting friends in Aberdeen we decided to eat out but having no local knowledge of the area (we are from south of the border) we were guided by our friends. It was evening when we arrived at The Creel and to be honest we would never have found it if we were on our own! We certainly would never... More

We've been meaning to go for ages - probably four or five years. The last time we were in the area we missed last orders at lunchtime by 5 minutes and had to leave on empty stomachs. We had initially been attracted by the Creet's reputation as a haven for Belgian beers let alone its shining accolades for seafood. Ironically... More
