Called in specially to eat some pies. 5 to 10 minute drive out of Whakatane toward Tauranga but weel worth ot. First was the bacon and egg pie. Beautiful crispy and light pastry, filling was a little sparse but it had actual bacon and a few peas which I really liked. Cooked well and not at all greasy like other... More

Wonderful place for brunch or lunch. The cafe is in the country, set in lovely gardens. There is plenty of choice on the menu and although it is pretty basic, the food is very tasty.

Nice big breakfast of bacon eggs and sausages with toast and coffee. Reasonable prices and a bakery onsite if you want something to take away.

Visited for brunch with the family. We all thought it was nice. They make there own pies and I must say they are very tasty. I tried the potato top. Not a huge selection of other food to order but makes deciding a lot easier haha. Everything my party ordered was well prepared. The outdoor seating is very relaxing and... More

Take a moment to visit The Red Barn, Don and his team will make you feel very welcome. Food is all prepared and baked on the premises. Awesome sweets like the vanilla slice - you'll talk about it for years! Worth a visit? Definitely!

We enjoyed a coffee here, which was nice. Then preordered a pumpernickel loaf for collection the next day. It was a nice loaf of bread, but not pumpernickel. Not heavy at all, and not dense. More like a wholemeal loaf. Disappointed.

Great low GI bread. Recommend the roast beef sandwich with carmelized onions - yum! Also a great little shop next door full of locally produced art and crafts. Well worth a look around!

Both BLT and Ploughmans lunch were amazing. Didn't leave any room for the delicious looking sweet treats in the cabinet! Highly recommend.
