Mai Thai is an authentic Thai restaurant in the centre of Oisterwijk. The cosy restaurant has 50 seats and a terrras. We serve mild and spicy dishes but the spiciness is standard at European level. We reserved a table for dinner on 14/02. We ordered numbers 83 and 121 and as a starter the vegetarian spring rolls with a Ginger ale and an aperol spritz. For dessert we chose the coconut ice cream with caramel and whipped cream. It was very tasty and very pleasant. Highly recommended. Golden compliments to the staff, very good service!

Authentic Thai food

The ambiance of this restaurant is great, and so is the food. We ordered some stir fried prawn with vegetables and penang curry, which was served with rice. The spice levels could be ordered to taste. The service was quick as well, very courteous people. Would highly recommend.

Cozy and very tasty food!

It was our first time here, with friends who had been before. The restaurant is nicely decorated and everything is neat and clean. Dishes are delicious and can be made spicier upon request. The service is correct, the staff is very polite and helpful. The owner is extremely friendly and has time for a chat, which we really enjoy. Unless it is too busy, but of course we respect that. In short, a very pleasant and enjoyable evening. We will most certainly come back. Thanks!!👍😊🙂👍

The only spicy thing was the bill

On the menu, the spiciness is indicated with stars between 1 and three stars. The soup we chose was 2 stars and for the main menu we chose 3 stars. The soup was nice and spicy and we were looking forward to the main course. Unfortunately, it wasn't spicy at all, so it can't even get 1 star. Both main courses were made without any pepper. It's really a shame because that's exactly why we went there. We did indicate this when they asked if we had enjoyed our meal, but unfortunately they did not respond to anything. So we will never eat there again.

Jammer dat de mondelinge uitleg door de eigenaresse aan je tafel niet begrepen wil worden en dat de hele wereld het nu moet weten, maar vooruit dan maar. Gerechten hebben een classificatie qua pittigheid tussen nul en 3. Drie is pittig voor een gemiddelde Nederlander. Dit heeft niets te maken hoe pittig gerechten in Thailand zijn. Dan komt er namelijk niemand meer terug. De voor jou geserveerde gerechten bevatten de gebruikelijke hoeveelheid pepers. Daarnaast had je een flinke pot zeer pittige verse 'prik nam pla' op je tafel staan. Verder, op de menukaart staat op elke bladzijde vermeld dat de kok de gerechten meer of minder pittig kan bereiden op verzoek. Je had dit verzoek ook niet gedaan, noch heb je één van de 4 aanwezige serveersters aangesproken. Helaas beklaag je je hier omdat je graag gelijk willen hebben. Jammer en hopelijk leer je er iets van.

After a beautiful holiday in Thailand we wanted to experience what the food would be like here. In one word: "great!". It was another rendezvous, the hostess was very friendly and the rest of the staff also helped us with a smile. We will definitely come back to you!

Perfect once again

After a first visit last year that we really enjoyed, we decided to go back last week. Once again this has been a perfect evening. The employees are so nice and friendly and willing to help. The food is really good (please try the Kluay Thod as dessert this is heaven). The flavours are perfect and the levels of spicyness really nicely indicated and adjustable as you prefer. Prices are more than correct, especially given the quality of the food. We will for sure go back in the future !!

Fantastic evening, thanks to all the staff. Very friendly waiters and fantastic food. We haven’t been able to go to Thailand for a few years now. So this is the next best thing. Real tastes of Thailand nice and spicy. We had a three / four course menu. Every thing tasted just like it does in Thailand. I had the spicy chicken soup. Delicious !!!! Even though we had to drive about an hour , it was really worth it and we will be back for sure. If I could I would give more than five out of five. Thanks everyone.

So good ... as always

We went there with my wife to have a lovely evening to start the holidays. As always (we already went a lot of times) all went perfectly. All the employees and owners have been so friendly and smiley :D The food was perfect as always (though we found the level of spice slightly higher than before). And the Kluay Thod – gebakken banaan met kaneelijs en slagroom remains so good that we doubted to take a second one. So once again we loved our evening and we will definitely come back soon

Very good dinner

We went for a dinner with my girlfriend and everything went perfectly. The employees have all been very professional and friendly. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. For the food it was really really good !!! I took a dish that is normally quite spicy and I asked to have it less spicy. It has been served at the perfect "level" of spice. Both our dishes were really good, tasty, generous. Last I really advice you the Kluay Thod as dessert !! This is soooo good !!! I will for sure go back to taste other dishes.

Great food and friendly service

We visited maitai knowing that the kids dislike spicy food. Based on the other reviews we wanted to experience their food. Fortunately, everything on the menu has a ranking of how spicy it is. In the end the kids loved the least spicy things that they chose while we had a little sweat while eating. We were served by the owner who made sure that she talked with all guests while still training a new staff member. If there was one thing that I could improve then it would be the noise levels. It was a full house and everybody had to raise their voices to get heard.

Hard to improve unfortunatelly. Acoustics are tested all right. Noise level normally rise with the number of people inside. For more quite dining, as owners we recommend to avoid Friday and Saturday nights during rush hours.

Always a great restaurant to stop by for Thai kitchen. I you want it spicey, just tell the waitress and you will be served. Great Housewine or local beer. If you can't make a choice just ask for advise.

joyful staff and very tasty food

we had loumpias as starter, main dish was mild duck curry with haricots verts and aubergine and another main was chicken with rice (khaw pad kai), both shared with my wife and this was for us one of the best places to eat Thai in the Eindhoven neighborhood. we saw it was the best of restaurants in Oisterwijk on tripadvisor and followed that advice. Glad we made a visit!!

Nice place, great service, and the food was delicious. A lot of options everyone can find something to eat. Food came in the right timing, with explanation of what is served, really extraordinary experience. For sure we will come back to taste more dishes in the menu .

Tasty Food for the family meeting

Very tasty food, a broad range of choice and nice design. The atmosphere ok, but many people inside and you can feel like in a crowdy street. Possibility to have a special offer for 2, 3 or 4 person. Recommend.

Many guests means good business but can be sometimes too much, we can imagine. We recommend all days exept saturday nights if you prefer some more quietness to enjoy the Thai food and the atmosphere. We have special extended 3 and 4 course diners for groups to enjoy. Thanks anyhow for visiting us.

Mai Thai is an authentic Thai Restaurant in the beautiful place Oisterwijk, Brabant. The choice of foods is great, from curry's to stir-fried dishes. All made with great care and accompanied by fresh vegetables. Service is with a smile and very thoughtful.
