The ideal place to stop with the family or friends while making tourism in the island. Friendly and cosy environment, and most important, good food. We cannot say that the cod fish, the "cozido" or the octopus are the most typical Madeira food, but in this restaurant there are always a regional touch like the sweet potato or the cabbage.... Very good local food, very good soups and their famous povlo (octopus)! We liked so much we ate there every other night. And last but not least it is not expensive, very good value for money.

Went to this restaurant as it was recommended by our host. When we went in staff were quite rude. Needless to say we left quite promptly. Would not recommend.

Make sure you try their special gin mixes....best on the island!! One of a kind. The food is truly original Portuguese dishes. A must stop when in Prazeres.

Great dinner for reasonable prices. I had the goat stew which was lovely. My husband and kid went for the bife de lombo. Everything was very tasty and the meat of good quality. The desert, the lime pie, I did not like that much.

Place was recommended by local. And indeed you can find tourists and locals as their customers. The food is no nonsense and good. You can find traditional dishes on their menu (the espada and esptada) as well as other dishes. They also serve enough. Good sangria by the way! Small anecdote: the lady of the house is from South Africa.... More

His restaurant serves traditional Portuguese food. The portions are beyond generous and everything (octopus, cod fish, veal stew, Cozido) we've tried tastes great. Even the bread is prepared locally based on a traditional recipe which includes sweet potato. Highly recommended!

My wife and I eat here for Sunday lunch. We arrived around 12:30 and the place was empty, by 13:00 full up with couples and families getting down to Sunday lunch. The restaurant offered a pork/chicken stew with vegetables or a pork stew with bean and rice or a baked cod and ham. We had the stews. If you like... More

It´s easy to describe restaurants like this one, everything is perfect, the food is out of this world and the staff first priority is to satisfy the costumer. Professionals!! I went dinner here with a group of friends and we saw the biggest pork chops ever, we ate a tastefully octopus and an amazing codfish with cream. after this bombastic... More
